I feel like a lot of people forget how popular valorant is in JP right now

Not sure if these stats are true, but according to Liquipedia, the stage 3 JP playoffs actually had a higher amount of average viewers and peak viewers then EMEA

There's something wrong with this viewer stat, both Liquidpedia and Esports Charts didn't count the number of viewers from the co-stream of a Turkish man named wtcn

And he always had over 50k+ people watching during the event, mostly on the SMB and Acend games

And about the japanese scene I always talked about how big the numbers there were
I hope they do well at Masters Berlin

I assumed there had to be something off, since the EMEA numbers did seem low
Just wondering though, would that mean that the JP numbers are wrong to, since Stylishnoob's co-stream was getting like +80k viewers?

No, japanese are correct.
Only emea and korean numbers are wrong.

No product placements no sells
Stop talking shit, valorant would at least pull 75 percent of the viewers without co streams

Imagine CSG OMEGALUL without CIS/NAVI/S1mple and Gaules OMEGALUL

If it weren't for Gaules CSGO would not have 5% of the viewers it has today in Brazil

NA scene = dead
All asian scene = dead
EU = carried by CIS

CSG OMEGALUL brain lmao

Valorant is literally only popular in NA and Japan, in EU is carried by turkey.

LMAO WHOLE VALORANT SCENE IS CARRIED BY CO-STREAMS HAHAHH, wanna compare viewers without co-streams supernova OMEGALUL.

Eu carried by cis ???¿??=??

Supernova remember that csgo will be always the king, no big streamers playing it, no ads on the internet. Not a plastic game like valorant

i remember checking live tweets during iceland and it was almost entirely japanese fans, i was shocked that there were so many fans considering how csgo was super niche in jp.

they have a really solid playerbase and the community is really invested in esports, it may take a few years but i confidently think japan will be competitive with the top regions eventually as they grow

Well csgo isnt really a style of game that matches well with the asian style. The picture i have a bout an ideal game in asia or in this case japan are cartoon/anime graphics and abilities + riot invested quite a lot into asia

has a realistic looking game without abilities succeeded in asia? excluding shit games like cod mobile, crossfire etc

Yea, Japan has a lot of popular streamers that co-stream the tournaments. I personally watch StylishNoob's co-stream, but the main stream is also enjoyable since the casters are amazing. I think the chat is a lot more bearable compared to NA/EMEA since there aren't that many spammers from other regions (besides the occasional when is Northeption playing? spam). Hopefully Japan can perform well at Berlin.

The chat in the main stream is practically つよおおおお or うおおおおおおお or やば. Or whenever something is playing: smth(followed by random japanese characters) or スミス(followed by random japanese characters. Pretty chill chat though. Really rare for spam to happen. And I usually watch the CR games because I like how their team works with the 7 man roster bc it's pretty interesting. And all of the chat is just vibing.

I personally actually don't like the castors at times though. Because they are quite loud. I usually like to analyze plays and shit. But my ears go anime mode whenever the castors start screaming. It's a little annoying at times for me personally.

Probably "smth 強い" lol. It means "strong" but they always spam it whenever someone makes a crazy play.

Ik lol. But the whole chat starts simping after smth whenever INSM are playing.

I remember it was like 20k peak viewers back in VCT JP stage 1 especially when Jupiter (now ZETA) plays, now you easily get a stable 25k-30k minimum live viewers during stage 3 even without ZETA or CR playing the game and peak is at 162k total (including co-streams). Even Youtube stream were usually peak at 10k, now 10k is the minimum while the peak is at 30k-40k viewers.

It's nice but how did it happen? because in stage 1 they got like 30k views but now 133k suddenly.

Some said that there are many factors to it, the rise of PC gaming in FPS title and esports culture in general during the pandemic are some of them I believe.

Here's a guess, could be completely wrong tho:
Valorant started to become more mainstream in Japan after Reykjavik and got a massive spike in players
Absolute Jupiter (Zeta) started to get actual competition from CR, which eventually turned into a rivalry
Northeption, with Seoldam, started to bring in more fans in Stage 2 and 3 and attracted fans from other regions as well
More large content creation streamers started to co-stream the main events, such as StylishNoob
Another popular player, something, started to play in Stage 3 which brought in even more fans
