It has been written as such:
Whenever a North American duelist talent gets hyped to the stratosphere, their downfall will be doubly so.
TenZ Masters winner into the Sentinels no internationals content era.
Yay Jaccob (greatest duelist ever) Whiteaker, into El (lockerroomproblem in tier 2) Diabl0.
and now... Demon1. https://x.com/ValorINTEL/status/1794056643656786356 Benched for inability to hit anything but heads.

Nothing lasts forever. All empires crumble.

Back in his prime on Jett and pseudo-duelist on Chamber, he was definitely considered such. Obviously not anymore, but there were definitely conversations back then about GOAT status for the dude

yay was never a top tier duelist and will never been one, he just needs to take the sentinel route and he’ll return to form

It’s because for whatever reason NA loves to crown players in their region as the best player and they do play insane for a few months but then afterwards fall off hard. Like you mentioned, first tenz, then yay, then demon1.

Meanwhile Aspas has been the best and most consistent player since 2022.
