Hi all, currently I play on medium settings getting over 60 fps with screen freezes that occur every so often for half a second here and there. I forgot the processor I have, but i believe its over 3 Ghz but its old and my pc is a budget build with a old motherboard and a nvidia gtx 970 and 8gb ram. Bearing in mind this pc literally only cost me like £240 ish to build, what should I buy to improve my experience?

At the moment these are some of the things im thinking of:

  • New mobo, new cpu, ideally both for less than £100 combined
  • I will obviously be getting more RAM, i just havent had time to get round to buying that. And another SSD.
  • A monitor with a higher refresh rate (im wondering if its worth it because would it be good enough on its own or would i have to upgrade my pc to get any value out of it?)
  • I also want to be able to play AAA games on this PC in the future so parts that are "futureproof" would be a plus ig

Any recomendations for products or how I should allocate my money would be greatly appreciated (i dont want to go broke please dont make me spend more than £200)

u should aim for a mobo and new cpu; you should probs go for a ryzen build since AMD supports mobo for longer ( future proofing your pc ) and more ram would be good; for AAA games you should really save up money over time until you can get a good GPU; cheap GPUs are legit useless atleast 1650ti or 1660ti if you wanna play newer games; RYZEN 5600G is or 5600X are goated budget CPUs just get a mobo that supports them if you can build something around the level of these parts youll get ight frames at medium in most AAA titles.

Check out for the battery
I remember my pc used to get stuck quite often and when I ran an hardware diagnosis test, it detected the battery problem.
I highly recommend you to buy a 240Hz or 360Hz monitor. Also change the gpu, you can't run most AAA games with that gpu. Change the processor too which depends on your gpu.
I personally don't think ram above 8gb gives a major boost but I myself have a 16gb ram so....
