VCT financial situation?

does it not seem like rito is not helping orgs out much with financial stuff? Like look at LOUD and C9 they be dropping players because they can't afford anything, even sen had to start selling off their stuff to make a positive income (this is one of the most popular orgs btw). Like the bundles were cool and all but rito gotta be doing more things instead of the only source of income from the company that promised to help you with financial stuff is the sale of a gun skin which is determined by how popular you are.

I remember someone saying they were pretty sure rito gives teams like a mill just from being in the league

EDIT: just googled it and it says they do get around $600,000, but it can go up depending on the amount of skins they sell, and if they make champs they also get a cut of the money made by the future champions bundle

even then that's not enough for sustaining a vct roster + all the staff and in the end you just end up losing more money than you earn

ofc that's not enough, it's up to the org to also get other sources of income and be sustainable by themselves. Like, the orgs that were selected for franchising had to prove that they were sustainable in the future and were not gonna go bankrupt in the middle of the year. The stimulus is to help them, not what is keeping them in operations.

i guess but now its 3 orgs where we have seen some sort of bankruptcy/negative profit happening within them and doesn't seem like the money rito is giving is doing any favors

True, but I guess that's an industry wide thing. eSports aren't known for being the most sustainable and/or safe businesses either. We see orgs having financial problems everywhere, not just in Valorant unfortunately.

Orgs are paid a stipend to be there + gun bundle + champs bundle (which LOUD has been getting). LOUD is just too fiscally conservative for their own good

Notice it's all in the Americas leagues. That's because from all the cities, they picked LA. Why not Texas

loud is a positive income organization, they don't spend money, and they do have a positive income now.

Are American players overpaid? I feel like players should normally have their own sustainable source of income (i.e via streaming), on top of being paid by the orgs + payouts from VCT earnings / champ bundles + sponsorships.

i mean they kind of need the money have you seen the prices of things over there? not even including taxes taking like half your income on stuff but they do get a fair bit of money maybe a little bit too much but who's gonna say no to more money

200k/month is a lot of fucking money imo

i doubt its THAT much but I do see it being pretty high and pretty sure its just for other stuff they have to spend it on as esports isn't a very viable career for most people

for big orgs 200k is pocket change so I see your point also orgs not having money is due to the "esports winter" as they call it

with the skin money this year im suprised this is happening, especially to an org like LOUD that has one of the highest selling bundles

make vct bundles give at least 80% instead of 50%, i think that would be a big help

most def the bundle itself isn't even that expensive and rito gets more than half the profit from it

exactly, riot didnt even have to put very much effort at all into making them, i think next year it needs to be 75% profit to orgs/players at the very least if they want to make it more profitable

NA orgs like Cloud9, G2, and EG have had very expensive expenditures in games like CS2 where they have spent millions on buyouts/salaries for players, which in the end forces these orgs to cut corners unfortunately in games like VALORANT
