While the other nerfs I think work, the orb nerf is BS, IT BASICALLY KILLS VIPER AS A SOLO CONTROLLER ON MOST MAPS, while not really affecting her ability to work as a secondary controller

If ur gonna make it one molly at least give it 8-9 secs with a little more damage, and combined with the orb now being unretriveable, vipers now gone from arguably the best post plant line up agent to the worst

And again riot are Nerfing everything but the actual OP ability (getting chamber and Jett Deja vu any one), ffs riot nerf the wall already

It wasn't the "sentinel play style" that needed a nerf it was viper's ability to put pressure on an entire lane of the map with a push of a button with little to no counter play when Played at even a semi competent level

i aint reading those patch notes bro but i know for a fact these nerfs are mostly targeted towards her use in pro play and the fact that she's been the most dominant agent the past two years specifically because she could mask herself as a sentinel.

The problem is she's more of a sentinel now, they basically Nerfed her ability as a controller with the orb getting stuck

But her sentinel play style is still gonna remain, plus viper's plant Denial is now dead due to the smoke changes, but not even addressing the root of the problem Is what frustrates me

They did the same thing with Jett and chamber too, except viper is only a problem in pro play and pretty much below average in solo que

So for all intents and purposes they Nerfed her solo que viability without affecting her pro play usage by much

viper was op as fuck in solo q btw i ran her every map for a while in asc3+

but idrc about viper being played like a sentinel

i just didnt like that she was arguably the best sentinel in terms of stall, now her stall is a lot worse so im good with it

her being a sentine/controller is fine but she should not be the best

She is OP on 2 maps out of the 10 maps (Because those maps are bad and need a rework, Viper is a symptom of this), and unplayable on every other because she need another controller to be usefull, and you won't have 2 controllers in your ranked game. (If you have 1 controller, it's already a miracle)

What if your duelist don't entry on your smokes ?

I'm not sure losing the versatility in your duo, is worth the marginal gain picking double controller instead of something else. (Especially if you have to sacrifice your info initiator)

MFER i need to flex on 5 different agents to fit in my irl valo grps, and not everyone is gonna duo. HECK IF I WANT TO PLAY VIPER SOLO QUE, I NEED TO HOVER DUELIST TO EVEN GET A PROPER COMP, I SWEAR EVERY SINGLE TIME 2-3 PPL IN THE TEAM GO"AHHH WE LOST WE HAVE 2 CONTROLLERS" OR WHATEVER

Is viper op as a a 2nd controller in ranked, yeah obviously, but also remember that half the player based still don't know how to play with or against a proper double controller, idk how many times my teammates flame me for"putting bad walls" when using the bind a short setup 💀💀💀💀

Thats everytime the problem with agent's balance team. They don't target the rank where they need a nerf. They balance for the proplay by doing nerf that will affect soloQ but may not affect proplay, I can't believe how dumb this is.

The worst example of that was then infamous 5.07 patchnote. We were in a situation where initiator flasher were unplayable in soloQ, and strong as fuck in proplay, while it was the contrary for duelflash... And what they did ? They gave "More identity" to agent by nerfing the possibility for an initiator to pick on their own flash making them even more impossible to play in soloQ, while they up duelflash making them event stronger in soloQ...
The solution would have been "Make every flash equal" or "nerfing initiator in pro only, and uping duelist in pro only" so no flasher is unplayable in ranked or in proplay and vice versa, but they made the oposite.

it used to be 8 seconds years ago but they nerfed it because she had 2 mollies

now they removed a molly but they don't revert the first nerf they did (same shit as skye nerfs)

I'm just pissed they're doing roundabouts AGAIN, FOR FKS SAKE THEY DID THE SAME THING WITH JETT AND CHAMBER, NOT TOUCHING THE DASH AND TP UNTIL THE NERFED LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE

If that is true that mean even more double controller on the game. But the change has been made to nerf double controller. Pretty ironic.
That remind me when Raze nerf as almost killed Neon on Fracture
