all this shit about a format like SEA most likely wont happen mainly because its on lan and i doubt they will play in seperate rooms because riot probably wants it all on stage i would think.

most likely it will be a gsl format like the korea group stages; https://www.vlr.gg/event/595/champions-tour-korea-stage-3-challengers/group-stage-main

then go into a Ro8 with a lower bracket like North America playoffs; https://www.vlr.gg/event/578/champions-tour-north-america-stage-3-challengers-playoffs

you only mentioned EMEA format which most likely wont happen, SEA format which is a hard round robin group stage and Then north america ro16 format. didnt mention the GSL format that korea uses

Theyre playing 6 games a day
All their games are bo2s
Their event is 10 days long with 6 games a day and bo2s just imagine the length that would take with bo3s and 4 games a day

they can get through the group stage in 5 days and then 6 days for the ro8 is easy seen it took them 6 days to complete the ro12 in iceland

How do you determine how to distribute the points with the GSL system? Since groups are separated and you're eliminating half of the teams, how do you distribute points to the bottom 8?

the 4 teams eliminated in the first round of GSL get 13-16
the 4 teams eliminated in the decider get 12-9

Makes sense on the surface, but some groups are going to be stronger than others without seeding into it first. Isn't that a bit of a problem when it comes to integrity? Unless you meant, that this is supposed to include seeding too, which would be a bit stuffed in terms of the schedule.

what do you mean stuffed in terms of schedule? Its either going to this format or a Ro16 which could take even longer and if it does SEA groups other groups will be stronger anyway. This is also taking seeding into account

and i would think Riot has an idea of how they would do the seeding between regions seen as they already pick stronger regions when giving them berlin spots in the first place

Well, a full double elim bracket would be 31 games, bringing the average games per day to 2.8~. What you are suggesting incl seeding would bring the average games per day to 4.2~.

The average games per day in Iceland was 2.6~ for reference. So seems like they should make it a dual stream event if your choice of design is to be followed.

Honestly I'm fine with any style, there are pros and cons to each method. A swiss system into a full double elim would be my ideal, but that's a lot of games as well, so you have to take into account what the limitations of the event are.

Lol, if they make it single elim, that would literally be the stupidest decision ever for an international lan. This isn't league of legends, and that format is dogshit even in that game too.

That's what it is 100% unfortunately, expect double Elim playoffs for Champions, not for masters.They don't have enough time to do groups and double Elim in 10 days. Sad truth
