I like the valorant schedule more than CS, it's not perfect but if they utilize the rest of the months of the year and not shove everything in 6 months it would be.
Why:

  1. An off season creates hype for player moves and new rosters also adds a fresh start feeling to teams.
  2. For me, less matches = more important matches and a more hype atmosphere where one mistake will fck u up.
  3. IMO makes for better storylines.
  4. Breaks between tournaments/ season gives players time to stream/do content to individually benefit and grow as well.
  5. Similar to point 2, but less tournaments/majors makes winning so much sweeter.

Valorant is still a young esports, I think if RIOT keeps this going and improves it, Valorant esports will be larger than CS in 10 years. Thoughts?

I agree, this off season led to miniboo becoming one of the most scary players to play against in madrid

cs is kinda hectic to follow with all these events in close succession.

also imagine the amount of vods what will be available due to the sheer amount of events going on

thats what makes it better, do you not want teams to improve?

i do but imagine if you are a slightly worse team and you go out early in a certain event.. and your competitors who stay in the event just feed vods and material to antistrat them down your throat
imo this just leads to the sleeper EMEA type of play which imo is very boring to watch

It makes it quite stale imo as a viewer, but maybe that's just me. Because CS players are fine with stale since they play the same thing everyday for years.

Yeah that's a great point I haven't got the chance to keep up with the CS scene in a while ( I only get to watch GF in a tournament or two), but with valorant, even if I don't have time in a week cause of uni I can catch up pretty fast.

yeah, and that's great for the team to improve, but like If im not a diehard fnatic fan, I'm not watching 32 games of them playing. While in valorant I watch every single fnatic game even if I dont like them.

I think the one thing that people don't consider is that CS is only able to do this schedule by delineating the work of hosting events to other companies like ESL, PGL, etc. The only way that a lot of these companies are able to run these tournaments is because of the lucrative gambling sponsors. Riot has made it pretty clear they don't want to take gambling sponsors, so that leaves them with really only one option. Decrease the production quality so much that the cost is made up by only ticket and merch sales. Which, I have a feeling isn't what most people want.

bullshit. everyone just wants to see their teams play more games which doesnt happen in val.

True, but I also just like keeping up with other teams and tourneys which i feel is a lot easier in valorant compared to CS, way too many matches isn't a fix to your team not playing more than 10 matches a year. There is a balance which i feel is closer to being done in val rather than cs
