Monyet got fcked

They forced Little Bro to play Duelist after he had played Controller for a year, and then during the off-season, they only let him play Duelist twice, which didn't give him enough time to adjust to the pressure. In kickoff, he was still visibly nervous about playing Duelist on a team with an unconventional game style. You also can see that his controller is way better since that was his comfort role at that time. He then played in Madrid, the very first major tournament that he qualified for. Early in the game, he was still noticeably nervous until Benjyfishy called out, and he stopped grasping his chest. He started improving his games and his util, especially on a 1v1. He managed to reach the top 3, tied for having the most aces in the event, losing only to the grand finalist and top-fragging against the eventual winner. Then he got benched when he still had a year left. This is considered an outstanding result for any other player. I know the fans wanted Jinggg, but they couldn't have him at that time. So Monyet was the only player with experience playing in an international LAN without breaking the 1 import rule and could speak English and Bahasa. In addition, he has experience playing duelist and controller, which means they can play a more versatile comp. Feels bad for the guy, I hope other teams pick him up

Not every player can have a great start
He is still young and inexperience in such a big stage, but he progress and improve.

That's why I say he got fcked on this team. He is the youngest on the team—he's turning 19 in June—and is forced to adapt to a new style and role. It took him a while to adapt, and from what I see in Madrid, he is adapting faster than anyone. The difference between him the Swiss stage and the playoff is night and day.

why do people care? i want to see the highest level of competition and jingg is better. monyet will still get paid 6 figures to play video games on a different team

People care because someone getting fucked out of their roster spot with no way of getting on another tier 1 team is generally not pleasant to see.

its a competitive game. would it not be just as bad if jingg got released from the military and then he couldn't play anywhere instead?

Yes, it would but the idea that Monyet who I presume thought he would be getting a roster spot might be benched when PRX signed him to replace Jingg is worse. I'm just explaining why people care. No one likes that this is the case especially when a talented controller player that could benefit other tier 1 teams tremendously is likely to not play now.
