!clove divides the community unnecessarily

A lot of streamers on twitch have "!clove" as a command, but most people only use it to give their personal opinions on it and only a few use it for the intended reason and because of that people start hate-threads in the chat and get prema-banned.

BTW I AM NOT GIVING MY PERSONAL OPINION ON THIS, JUST MY OBSERVATIONS

Literally who cars, if you start a hate thread in chat after being warned you should obviously be banned

I do agree with that, but it's the fact that people even have to get banned "just" because of this command

"handling !clove" ? No one said people can't handle clove command. Author of the thread said that people use clove command to rather start negativity in chat than to educate. PLEASE READ.

If you start negativity because of a command, i would say that you were unable to handle the command. What are you waffling about?

i just hope that someone who genuinely doesn't know all the lore about Clvoe being 'they\them' doesn't get banned for calling Clove she.

Nobody is getting banned from calling clove a she, at least from what I saw. However, people are getting banned for making hate comments because of clove’s pronouns.

If you’re so upset of a video game character you might need more help than just getting banned from a chat lol

bro you just used the common argument without even realising that it doesnt fit here.

It is nowhere near about handling a video game charachter, as you say. The author of the thread raised the question on effectivness and negative impact of !clove command.

Learn to read, I’m referring to the people that complain about getting banned after intentionally misgendering the character.

I've not mentioned it in the main post but I find it pretty unnecessary to specify an agents gender in a tactical shooter tbh

like it just doesn't really matter and feels out of place

Valorant agents have always been more than a bot holding a gun though. They intentionally create lore behind them so obviously even if it isn't necessary, it's something they want to have in their game. Just like the cinematics aren't necessary, but they still create them. Clove's gender is just apart of their lore.

I agree with that the devs want the game to have a soul and a lore. But if I want to play a shooter and/or watch someone play it, I shouldn't have to remember something like their "made-up" gender, but should be able to use both the biological and the before mentioned.

And also with many games these days, this agent just feels like rito is just trying to meet the diversity-quota

How does Riot intentionally trying to create a diverse spectrum of agents, which does not in ANY way affect the gameplay, have any downsides? News flash, non-binary people exist and play the game so I don't think it's gonna ruin the game to have a singular non-binary agent.

Also, if you make a mistake on their pronouns while trying your best, people aren't going to be mad at you. It's clearly aimed at people intentionally misgendering them that are getting banned.

As I said before, I am not here to spread my opinion. I just want to hear other peoples opinion on the command and not the agent

Respectfully, it kinda sounds like you are complaining that you or others can't misgender clove with no consequences but you are free to do what you want. It's not like getting banned on twitch is the end of the world anyways

Sounds like maybe the issue isn't with clove and with people that start hate threads...it's not too late to change the title to "People that start hate threads divide the community"

it says "clove command is bad" and not just "clove is bad"
please read again carefully

Doesn't !clove just state that she's non-binary and uses they/them? Maybe I just haven't seen other ones

Genuine question, is Clove a non-binary? Doesn't that mean Clove is NEITHER he/she/they?

#23

no it means their preferred pronouns are they/them

"They" is a gender neutral pronoun therefore most commonly used by, and when referring to non-binary people. However, non-binary people can still choose to use other pronouns or any pronoun I believe :) Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong
