you gotta agree making cn as an exclusive region is too much. At least split Asia into two region. South and North like Apex

No we don't need to see Navi get anymore mickey mouse spots just to bomb out in tournaments, those paycheck stealers always end top 4 somehow

Can't agree more these mfer's start hyping these shitty chinese teams before every time just to get eliminated in intial stage or sometimes later stages and for eu atleast their team reach finals

Bruh prx got defeated by one of those team. And one bad day for the same team and you all start yapping like this. Not expected this from a person with prx flair.

According to you if edg lose its bad day but if prx lose, the other team was better? Ok fair.

So? Ok prx had bad day too. I mean after jingg loss they have been struggling a lot so they are indeed weaker rn. But still cn teams especially edg has shown some amazing plays and games and one bad day and you start yapping lol.

Can you please list out the amazing "plays" shown by EDG?
Are EDG known for innovative comps? No
Are they known for new strats? NO
Have they ever reached top 4? No

They had one good tournament last year in Tokyo and were immediately punished for their play style in Champs. And you still believe they are good enough to be a top team.

And edg vs Navi is still one of the most fun games from masters. They brought loud in champs almost to a loss. Most viewers watch the matches for entertainment not to learn strats or plays. If you don't like them just don't watch their matches lol. Not You or any one of us can do anything to remove cn slots or anything like that. So already stop crying like a kid bruh.

Being a "top" team is subjective and relative to the person.

EDG finishes top 6 in international LANs and dominate the regional games. I think that makes them a top team. I don't think they need to meet any of the criteria you mentioned to be considered contenders for an international title.

To me, a top team includes teams that consistently place among top 8; but perhaps to you it only pertains to a team in the top 4 or something among those lines.

you are talking about one bad day pick up any tournament and see their standings, all im saying is stop giving them too much slots

#15

And top 5-6 in masters Tokyo and champs still better than a lot of teams. And cn region still really underdeveloped in the technical strats part. Just see how fast edg have improved. And other cn teams have been improving as well.

Regions can't really get better if they aren't given chances to play at big LANs. I think with how big of a market China is, it only makes sense for them to be given chances to grow their Valorant scene. EDG already gave us a glimpse of how exciting they can be in the past, so it's not all bad giving them spots. They already have some nice individual talent, they just need to get more people on the coach/analyst side to improve the non-mechanical areas of their gameplay.

they get hard diffed in term of strat and they have been given far too many chances and too many slots . i think they must compete in apac league in terms of giving them chance

Do you understand that you and I don't benefit from china's player base or viewership right?
This is the reason people ask for less slots so that we can watch more competitive valorant. And before you say let China develop. We don't know exactly when they will get good and a lot of us will stop watching after a few years therefore we want high quality games now.

#22

And don't watch lol. Bruh you and most people are watching the games for free. Just don't watch cn games if you want to watch high quality games. And nobody is forcing you to watch the matches as well. Such a dumb argument lol.

Ok fair enough
But idk what are you gaining from defending them.

See my favorite team is edg and sen after them so I always defend them. Why? Cause I just like to for no reason. I gain self satisfaction defending my favorite players or teams if they aren't in the wrong.

Aside from the fact that very few Chinese teams can compete with international teams from other leagues, I think China itself is pretty competitive. I highly recommend that you watch some VCT CN games; you'd be surprised at how entertaining it can get.

International LANs only provide so many series I denounce the line of thinking that judging a regions' competitveness based off of a few matches is a wise choice.

I did watch FPX play and really enjoyed watching Life play. But let's be honest they simply weren't favored to win at all.
Also I'm not judging this based on this masters alone. I've seen EDG play from Champs 2022 and I still don't believe they are a top contender for winning an international event.

At the end of the day I don't have enough time to watch all leagues so I prefer watching pacific, emea and international leagues. So having a competitive international league will be more entertaining than having teams participate for represention and development which reduces the competitiveness of the tournament.

I agree with you about FPX not being a contender at all. In fact, I think EDG is the only team in China that could compete with the big boys up top. I also agree that they aren't a top contender, but they are always contenders nonetheless while a team like FPX or KRU (just an example) are not.

Time is of the essence, and I understand where you're coming from. While I certainly disagree slightly with your beliefs, I don't think you're wrong to think what you think. Thank you for backing up your claims with logic and reason.

Sure we don't benefit directly in terms of viewership experience from the get-go, but I'm sure Riot is thinking of longevity here and they can't just base the E-sports scene solely in the present (because they're still a business). Losing interest from relatively larger regions can't be good for them on any angle, and it makes me think about how CS is basically Europe-only at this point. Sure, I would love to see every single team have to qualify regardless of region so we get the best of the best, but it's probably not practical or beneficial to go on both extremes.

Yes, this is the perfect response to this whole china thing and i do understand that this esports is a business for them at the end of the day. I just wanted to point out that a random vlr user defending a billion dollar company simply doesn't make sense when he is gaining nothing from it.

We all know that China's too big to be merged with the rest of Asia, not even getting to the governmental policies that will probably obstruct such an idea to come into fruition.
