The Recency Bias Disease of VCT

This thread is to acknowledge the fact that many followers of VCT are collectively and openly victims to recency bias, the cognitive bias that favors recent events over historic ones. I believe that it's mostly due to the fact that the league has failed to find any long lasting dominant teams/players at all. The competitive scene has only been around for four years, but even then, the players that've been hyped up to be the best way back then have completely failed to stay competitively relevant throughout the years, causing us to start jacking off to only the latest results to form our opinions on.

I am asking everyone suffering from this disease to wake up, as that's the only cure to this. TenZ/Zekken do not clear Demon1 or aspas.

I've supported SEN since joining the site. Dickriding the team 24 hours a day won't make you forget about your lack of a social life. 15 hours of posting about SEN since you woke up, this site is the only thing that makes you happy.

zekken and tenz did in fact JUST cleared demon1, they each cleared him on 2 maps. demon1 should still be considered a good player but his performance recently did not look as good as he did in the past

I agree and I blame Riot for putting together tournament formats that are flawed and support upsets. Kickoff was similar to March madness imo however inheritly flawed.

Running seeded tournaments on data that was half a year old. (At least MM is seeded properly)
No double elimination playoffs. I think this puts too much emphasis on antistrating, one-time use team compositions, and single tournament performances. (Basketball does not have these elements except for the last)
