Leo Faria hate

no idea why people (and this site in particular) have such a raging hate boner for Leo Faria. a lot of people act like he is the sole person making the decisions, and not just a figurehead in charge of communicating them. on that point, he is more transparent than practically anyone else with that role.

it's a little sad to see that people don't really think critically when it comes to these issues (not saying people can't have an opinion on the schedule) but every time something happens that the community doesn't like people go after his head like crazy

Because he's the commissioner of the VCT... He should have a large impact on the decisions the VCT makes.

Plus this is more of a personal dislike, but he has a tendency for his first reply to any criticism to be a "PR response" where it doesn't make sense, he'll get called out for it, then have a second response which is more honest, but is normally a bad take.

If you want some examples of what I mean, you can look here. (https://twitter.com/LoganBartley25/status/1747666705382597048) where initially he says they couldn't do it, then the second reply where he says they were "happy" with the number of games. I don't have the tweets, but there was something similar in the TGRD/G2 situation.

I mean what he says in the linked tweet doesn't contradict the other one. I think Faria means that they are happy with splitting the round robin into two splits (considering they'll eventually have ~14 teams in each league, this makes sense to me). I would recommend anyone watch the sideshow video on the topic where he talks about how it was literally impossible to squeeze two full round robins without having double match weeks this year.

I do totally understand the backlash due to the G2/TGRD situation, that was communicated very poorly. And my point with my post was not about how Leo is a saint or doesn't make mistakes (he has made them in the past), it's more about the disproportionate backlash that he receives from the community, in my opinion.

And personally I prefer a dude who is very open about things than another person who may not even take the time to respond to the community.

first tweet says due to time constrictions they couldn't have full RRs per split

replier says they could add more time to the schedule

"We're happy with the baseline"

The true position is that they don't want to have a full RR per split. This isn't popular with the community, so he says that they couldn't make it full RRs per split, when in reality, they didn't want to.

You said it perfectly, they would have to have two games on at the same time to make it work (similar to CS). They could just say we don't want double viewing, and that would be fine with me, but he didn't say that. Instead, he said that they couldn't make it work.

Personally, I don't know. Maybe I would prefer no communication instead of this shit where we have to dig 3 levels deep to see what he's really saying.

leo faria is just a cog in riots machine he is utterly powerless to make changes it's not like he's the ceo. Does the ceo make decisions for the esports scheduling? well no... it seems like no one is accountable! riot is just an object moving in a direction that can't be influenced! 🤠

The nerds are completely outraged at the valorant schedule and need someone to be mad at. Riot does make dumb decisions so its whatever.
