They didn’t wanted Monyet, cause no one thought Monyet could be molded into a controller role. They had a duelist in the form of Ejay. While GE had other plans, they wanted all duelists thus going for Monyet.

You gotta give credit to Ge where it is due, they molded him pretty well. It was after the league when everyone got their eyes on Monyet and how good of a controller he can be. Believe it or not but cracked controllers are hard to find. Which is why everyone showed interest in him when the league ended.
