So TenZ switched to operator hold a couple of days ago and now every friend of mine (TenZ fans) have switched to it. I dont understand why people think they will start playing like TenZ if they use his settings / Crosshair. Honestly , when he said Phantom is better most of my server switched to Phantom and this is in India , i wonder what happens in Na or Canada

Hold has been meta since Cned introduced it... Tenz just copied and showed it to his fanboys... anyways Phantom was always meta

Has been happening for years and will keep happening. People listen to whatever pros and top players say in hopes of getting better. Because of course you would take advice from someone who has mastered the game and played at it's top levels. You shouldn't change your entire gameplay style because TenZ said so but making a few changes here and there don't seem bad. Oh and operator hold mode is in general way better if you use the marshal especially , idk why more people didn't use it before.

Bro i feel that man. I used to use hold on the marshall and im pretty cracked with it, i always go for it on save rounds no matter what agent and now i have an overall hs on that gun of 60+%. But when its someone like me talking abt how i love hold compared to toggle no one will listen. So now its been like 4 acts i think and tenz and shroud talk about it and everyone uses it.

THE ONE THING I WANT TO SAY. HOLD IS NOT FASTER. It is because you can rescope mid unscope animation a little easier. I'm pretty sure you can still do it with toggle but you need some annoying settings. But yes. It's not quicker. It doesn't make for faster quickscopes. This actually shows how gullible people are. It is something that can work for some people. But there are advantages to both sides. But that advantage isn't scoping in quicker from a stand still.

This is honestly sad but I think his take on phantom is good actually. Because phantom is legitimately better. People have just been stingy on using it. As well as TenZ. He just likes how the vandal feels. That's why he uses it. But hold operator is preference. Not meta. If you are holding angles. It makes you apply pressure on to your mouse which makes it more ecstatic which can make your aim worse. But rescope works for aggressive play for the most part.

Also one thing. The only way to improve your quickscoping other than aim training. Is through raising your aimed in sensitivity. Your aimed in sensitivity affects you sens when you're aiming in so it makes quickscoping much harder. I use 1.5 which makes it 1:1 in cm/360. But no real adv. I just use it because it helped a ton in Siege and it feels odd to not have it on.

Yep holding RMB fucks w your grip/muscle memory

Toggle is what I'm used to while rifling anyway so I won't go so far as to screw up my sniping AND rifling

ive been using hold because i came from games like cod where you have to hold the ads, i guess its meta. also cned popularized it, thats literally why tenz switched

Hold isn't faster because there is no such thing as ADS for the AWP. Hold is faster for rifle adsing and just superior overall.

For the awp, hold is just preference based. There is no inherent advantage with it.

bro ive had hold since beta, i have hold in every game and I feel like most people who come from other games would've changed to hold too, I thought everyone had it by now, toggle is a hassle and a half

hold as no particular advantage.
You could just let it stay 'toggle' and instead of clicking, u hold it, it works the same.
toggle is like hold but it offers you the other option of just clicking to zoom.

Toggle is weird for op in valorant compared to awp in csgo, because scoping is instant in csgo.

Because he is the most famous player in the world and one of the best if not the best fragger and when he says something, people want to do what he does. Imagine if Michael Jordan or Ronaldo and Messi told their fans what they do on the field specifically. They would all copy it immediately. And poeple who think he is copying others, no he is trying new shit. If you know TenZ, you know he constantly tries new things. New mice, new sens, new pc etc. He always does it. The dudes brand is huge, everybody is gonna do what he does.

If Tenz has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Tenz has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Tenz has only one fan then that is me. If Tenz has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Tenz, then I am against the world.

tenz fans about to make me leave the fan base of the team i’ve been supporting for a year it’s so sad

If people changing their Op settings is a reason for leaving a fanbase, that's sad. Honestly, the anti TenZ fans are far and above worst than anything I have seen from TenZ fans, especially on this site. Yeah, you'll have people trying to copy his play style. But the same can be said for literally every pro in the scene. He's popular, he's gonna have influence. The same can be said for CNed, Scream, Nukkye, etc, all these players are really good, so there gonna have a fanbase that follows their say like scripture.

Truthfully I think the idea of coping a pros settings like crosshair or sensitivity is dumb all around, no matter who it is. Everyone is different. Using it as a starting point sure I completely understand, but players shouldn't be worried about doing what works for them.

Anyways, give me TenZ fans over their haters any day. At least the fans are just trying to have a good time. Like look at this thread. We have someone complaining because their friends are trying out hold with Oping. It's harmless. And no different than the millions of players using a pros crosshair or sensitivity. But because it's attached to TenZ, it now has a stigma attached to it. Just enjoy yourselves guys. This kind of stuff is so minor that the people getting upset about it doing it to themselves for no reason. If it's not TenZ, it's gonna be someone else.

well i honestly don’t care about copying his settings i think the op scoping actually makes sense bc it’s something that applies to everyone, not just like sens or keybinds which can be different for everyone. i was just saying in general i’m tired of tenz fans. i don’t really hate them i just have a few friends that love him and they’re mad cringe, but they may be a bad example of tenz fans. i just don’t wanna associate myself with them anymore, i just wanna be a fan of shahz and zombs in peace and not get called delusional

Oh I am all for giving attention to the smaller fan bases. If you are getting called delusional that's completely on them and sad. It does do the scene a lot of good to have a star player. Like Simple in CSGO, he is synonymous with the esport and pulls in viewers and fans. The new players to Valorant will most likely jump onto a player like TenZ, CNed, Scream, etc. But give them time and they should start noticing the more under appreciated pros, like a DapR for example. All I can say is try not to let it get to you. If it's your friends, hopefully try and guide them. Like even TenZ himself says the reason for their success has been how the group comes together. Best of luck though.

Edit, wanted to give a shout out to Skrossi. Even if someone believes that once he is put up against T1 talent he will crumble. He is a massive positive as a whole to the Valorant esports scene. Like yeah, it can be annoying running into fans that think he would destroy every established pro in Valorant even though he's not been tested. Players like him help grow the esport in India. I think the issue why a lot of the big name fanbases like TenZ, CNed, Scream, etc can seem annoying at times, is because it's these players doing the majority of the bringing in new fans to pro Valorant who might not be as knowledgeable of the game and scene. I just really think it's unfortunate that because of this, TenZ and his fans have a negative stigma on their back even though they are a positive to the community as a whole.
