CS2 truth

CS2 will be a significant upgrade. The game WILL continue to be the best FPS in terms of raw mechanical and strategic competitive capacity. the skill ceiling in CS is astronomically higher than Valorant. Yet, in some sense, this is its weakness. The game will continue to live on through the generations in EU, but not even CS2 will be able to compete with Valorant in other regions. Nevertheless, this scarcity from other regions will make Cinderella stories all the more magical

Valorant now looks graphically far inferior to CS2. Other than that, the competition between the two is pretty much settled. CS will go the way of small, fine tuned updates and careful competitive changes; Valorant will be new meta, new map, 5-6x a year. Now Valorant is behind in graphics, and I hope they have the courage to step up. Such dynamic lighting could easily be incorporated into Valorant. Nevertheless, mechanically, the game will remain inferior: slower, smaller maps, more utility impact, equal strategic depth (not surface)

CS greatest gift is how open it is in all aspects which also is its weakness. It’ll still be a great esport though. Europeans will continue to dominate.

no.

valorant UTILITY is > cs utility in its strength/impact

the structures guiding strategy play across both games: faking, taking information, taking and retaking space, trading, playing to the disadvantage, playing to the advantage, multitudes of protocols, etcc etc etc

you wouldnt say valorant strategy > chess strategy just because there are more pieces in valorant? chess > cs > val -- more is not always better, sometimes less allows for depth rather than breadth of tactic

VAL is shit, especially Tier 2 scene.
In americas (Brazil, Latam, USA, Canada) only 50 players would be earning like 10-50k per month, while Tier 2 they earn basically 0 or 1k at most. (Imagine, four big countries and only 50 players)

In CS many Tier 2 players (thousands) can easily earn like 10k per month even more, winning regional things, sponsor, gambling, etc. It's just way more profitable.
You'd wasting your time if you spent thousand hours grinding to in the end earn more working at MacDonald than Gaming itself, remember, you're good you will only be good at moving pixels on screens, useless talent. So, try to earn money of it otherwise you're dumb.

CS >> VAL.
If you don't manage to become one of the 50, at least you'll earn $$ something to make up for the time you've invested in the game. CS way much safer and more rewarding compared toVvalorant, apart from the fact that Valorant if you stop playing for 6 months the game will have completely changed making you useless if you don't keep adapting constantly, imagine adapting constantly and not winning anything. WASTE OF TIME.

Valve are adding a Faceit-like system with ranks, leaderboards etc and anti-cheat called Vac Live, so it seems the MM experience may be slightly better this time : )

its not a stable tier 2 ecosystem at all, but also the game is literally 3 years old
while cs has been alive for 2 plus decades
Im sure in a couple of years tier 2 val will easily surpass cs Tier 2 in terms of stability and financially

this is silly because yes utiliy has more strength/ impact, but you managed to miss the point that this added strength and impact complicates and adds more depth to the strategy of the game. in cs you will never midround according to ults the enemy got online. you'll never play patiently against a stun nade combo. you'll never have to account for enemies to take a one and done angle with an op because they can teleport after taking their shot.
of course they're extremely comparable, theyre both 5v5 tac fps's with utility, but valorants utility sets it apart, the power level and importance of it creating so many more decisions to make and unlocking far more creativity strategically.
everything that you mentioned a la the similarities in strategy are complicated by utiliy in val, and thus complicated in a strategical sense aswell.
