Screen flickering above 120hz

Might not be the best place to ask, but it's the only option.. sorry lads.

Anyway, for some reason my screen is flickering if I try to use refresh rate higher than 120hz, my monitor is 165hz...

Tried different hdmi cable as well as different gpu..

GPU: amd 6600
Monitor: Acer Nitro RG241YP

Cheap monitors are overclocked, it's not a natural 165hz panel. 120hz was probably the highest refresh rate it was made for before the company overclocked it.
