Unpopular Opinion: Comics and mangas aren't real books , they are made for people who do not enjoy the quite comfort of reading a novel and have the attention span of an ADHD child. Before you DOWNVOTE me to hell, I said UNPOPULAR OPINION for a reason.
And as for the question, I try to find any live action remakes of the book I am reading , I really loved LOTR , the movies and the books both!

Go to the library and pick a book.
Open random page and read it.
If u disconnect with the world and don't pay attention to surroundings keep the book with u for the time being. If u hear everyone around you while reading (standing), place the book back.
Now, pick another book and do the same.
Do it with 2-3 books were u have full interest and focus on them.
Now go sit down somewhere in the library and read a bit.

Buy 1 or more of the books u chose.

tf is post book depression? Sounds like youre reading as a way to escape rather than a way to enjoy someone's creativity.
Also read better books that leave you feeling good.

have you never read a book that leaves you with a hollow feeling?

to me fiction is just a way to escape reality, I think that’s the whole reason the genre was created

What book you want fanfiction for. Because it really depends. I suggest just searching up in fanfiction.net or ao3. If you want recs tvtropes has a section on fanfiction. You could always search in reddit for reccomendations of course. Some larger fandoms even have their own reddit thing fot fanfiction ( example: harry potter : r/HPfanfiction)

Nah the real heartbreaker is when you read a book that ruins you emotionally at the same time you're listening to an album on repeat and now it's rly tough consuming either

Read Non-Fiction books. You will gain wisdom & knowledge instead of thinking about fictional characters and getting depressed.
