Fixing SEN

Zekken stays as the primary duelist player
Marved stays as a primary smokes player
pANcada is dropped
Tenz is dropped
Sacy is dropped
Johnqt is picked up from M80 as the igl and primary sentinel player
Brawk is picked up from Moist Moguls and becomes the primary Initiator player
Zellsis returns to sentinels from C9 and becomes the primary flex player
Happy new head coach for SEN

Explanation: I decided to keep Zekken and Marved as they have proven over the course of the season that they are the most consistent players on this roster. I dropped pANcada because we don't need two major smokes players on the same team, and pANcada hasn't played controller in a very long time. Dropping Tenz is a need for this roster, one big problem is that he is a primary duelist and yet he doesn't play any raze. On maps like bind where Raze is a need Tenz is forced on some weird role that makes the team comp shift in a very weird way, Zekken has had better average stats on Jett than Tenz throughout the season as well. While Sacy does have good performances on Sova and Breech, Skye is becoming more meta and Sacy cannot play skye for the life of him. He does have his moments, but he needs to learn how to play skye.

I chose to pick up Johnqt as he is a great sentinel player in NA and good igl, he brought M80 all the way to the grand finals of Ascension and honestly was one call away from me choosing Valyn rn. I also chose to pick up Brawk from MXM, he has had a major impact on their run in split 2 and I genuinely believe that MXM could've placed top 3 in ascension if they qualified. I considered NISMO, but he only played two initiators throughout the majority of the season and Brawk has had more drastic success in split 2. Lastly I chose to pick up Zellsis from C9 as he is the only major flex player in NA that would consider moving to a new org, he produced good numbers on many agents throughout the regular season and was honestly one bad call away from making tokyo, twice.

blowing up the roster and starting over again isn’t going to fix their problems imo. either you get a 3-player core + coach or keep the current roster

I would personally just Keep Tenz Zekken Marved (assuming he plays next yr), and rebuild around that. I'm assuming Sacy and Pancada r gonna join furia/mibr. Question is whos gonna be coach, I think kaplan and drewspark should go back to there old jobs of Assistant coach and analyst.

Current roster is dogshit, maybe you could keep sacy to make a trio with Zach and Jimzo.

We gave this team so much time to be good and they just aren't, I believe if you put good players from different orgs together they will become better than keeping a mediocre core together.

it realistically hasn't been that much time for them to mesh

they had all of VCT americas playoffs, Masters Tokyo, and Americas Ascension. 100T made a run last year with the same amount of time, why can't this team?

Keep the current roster, give Marved lessons on how to IGL from daddy FNS, FNS watch party everyday, mentality coach for the whole team, personal therapist for TenZ, and that will fix everything up no cap no kizzy

We gave this team so much to prep and they are mid at best, keeping the roster together isn't going to do anything in 2023. Tenz also needs to play more than just jett to be considered good.

2 months ain’t a lot bro, also they were doing good on practice, sure that doesn’t mean shit in games but it’s something to base off, they have the mentality to keep going at it. And I think with the proper staff changes they can do real shit. (Less time then from Franchising to LOCK // IN, btw.)

Kru had two months and they are doing way better than SEN.
Kru has a structured roster, SEN doesn't
Kru has an experienced IGL, SEN doesn't

Some teams just take awhile longer, KRU also has a core of players they kept for a LONG TIME. While Sentinels didn’t. KRU in the end technically had the start of Americas W1 to LCQ(expect for a coach change in midseason, which sentinels also had),While SEN had W7 to LCQ.
Sure you can argue structured roster all you want, but if the players feel like there is more potential to be played. And as I said give Marved some IGL schoolin there is still plenty of time for 2024.

hold up, wdym when you say Kru had w1 to LCQ??? They didn't give up on Americas instantly? Also both teams are studying during the regular season anyway.

Kru made changes in late 2022 this core HAS NOT BEEN TOGETHER FOR A LONG TIME. About the same amount of time as sen.

“Both teams are studying during the regular season anyway.” NO THATS CAP(KRU STAYED THE SAME THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE TIME), AND YEA THEY MADE CHANGES IN 2022 BUT ITS LONGER THEN SENTINELS WHO HAD A ROSTER CHANGE BASICALLY EVERY WEEK THIS CURRENT ITERATION OF THE ROSTER WAS ONLY FROM W7 OF AMER TO AMER LCQ?!?

Also like when I thought u meant two months, it was for the roster staying together to prove themselves. So that’s why I said that, and it’s true KRU has had the same roster since W1 AMER to AMER LCQ.

first, chill it's an internet debate go take a walk

SEN have an unstable roster rn, period. They need a roster change because of the role overlay. No amount of time is going to change that.

The way I see it Kru and SEN had the same amount of time going into lcq after exiting the regular season and one is doing way better.

Yea you right, but it’s frustrating to see you walk over my point by glossing over it barely.

Sure you can argue that Sentinels are an unstable roster rn, but they are finding their form, the players of Sentinels agree to the fact they can be better as a TEAM, and who really wants to stay will be up to time. But I feel like they are already finding the solutions to these role overlays, one can argue to the fact that panCada is still playing sentinel(in Pearl n Fracture[Which he has done exceeding well in that map]), but in there are still maps where he’s playing double controller. Of course IGLing is the major problem but Marved was once the IGL of FaZe(even so very long ago), so there’s still that.

KRU overall has more chemistry than Sentinels with a longer time to develop. Also I want to mention the fact that the language problem from Sentinels is not gonna get worse over time, it’s going to get better.

When pAncada was playing smokes during lock in and pre lock in he used to carry SEN every single scrim dropping 30+ but after switching to Sentinel his KJ is poor but his cypher and viper still great.

Not sure if SEN gonna drop him tbh, especially now bc he increased his agent pool by playing sentinel he can fit smokes or sentinel now.
Marved still good but IGL made him worse too.

My guess is that they need to fix their flex-duelist role, either Zekken duelist or Tenz duelist.
Either they're going to pick up a main duelist now or Zekken to duelist + Flex IGL

I think zekken could be the main duelist and they try to get a Flex IGL who can actually shoot back.
Or they stay with this roster and try to teach more marved IGLing since they now have 4-5 months to prepare.

I agree with you a lot

When pANcada was playing at Lock in SEN didn't have marved as a starter, I believe that pANcada is a great player and should be in T1

But it makes no sense to have two world class smokes players on the same team, I simply chose Marved over pANcada because he has been playing controller for longer.

Yeah, but being flex Sentinel and Smokes made pAncada more valuable honestly, bc now they can choose Flex IGL or Sentinel IGL, upon they to decide.
Sentinel IGL is not that good too, so they need to know that.

they'd pick up Johnqt for sentinel role and marved has more experience

#15
SEN_brasileiros

Yeah but the problem is sentinel is being IGL is not that great for Attack side because they need to lurk and cannot do entry calls, thats why Flex IGL are valuable too, but NA lacks sentinel making Johnqt to fit it + being IGL

I think it all depend about how SEN gonna do about Tenz if they keep him or not.

#18

Honestly if SEN keeps tenz and zekken they aren't going far.

igling on sentinel role is really easy on defense cause ur not holding an angle, you would be playing off of util. Any other igl on defense is kinda rough. there isn't really a solution to what role is best for an igl, I just picked johnqt cause he's good.

if they change every time it won't get better. they gotta figure out what works cz they already have a stacked roster.
you nrg supporters know that very well why nrg is so good still now(cz they have that same old core for eternity)

We gave sentinels so much time to prep and they couldn't beat leviathan, I don't think this roster works...

Tenz is a one trick jett and yet Zekken is playing a duelist on every map anyway.

Marved and pANcada have a massive role overlay problem, as well as marved being a very new igl

Sacy can't play the 2nd most meta agent and he primaries initiator.

This roster has problems

They need to make changes when new patch buff and nerfs release otherwise imagine if they drop Tenz then Chamber is suddenly good again.
Or if they get another Insane Jett main and suddenly jett get nerfed during new year patch
They only stayed with Tenz because they wanted him to be a Chamber player (Awper) but Chamber got fucked mid season making him to go to Flex-Duelist and it made pAncada to Sentinel to fix this role issue.

I see what u mean, but the chamber change was 4 months before lock in. That's a lot of time before.

But that happened after they made contract with Tenz instead releasing him.

That's a lot of time to prep and they had a structured roster, it was a massive troll to force Zekken on duelist and move tenz to other stuff imo

#35

Honestly there's a high chance of them sticking together since they do not feel that they failed since they had a lot problems during this season and still they got far.
IGL dropping mid season
Coach dropping mid season
Weird role change by coach (Sacy smoke)
Marved learning IGL
Tenz injury mid season making him to not train for 2 weeks

Pretty sure everyone in SEN do not feel that they played bad but with all issues they still got far tbh, they lost a lot 2-1 by throwing some rounds just like KRU did.

Regardless of what happened in the past

The roster doesn't look okay now, we have two smokes players, two duelists, and an initiator. As well as comparatively the most inexperienced igl in all of vct.
