Concerns about Team Secret's Representation of the

I just realized how TS's selection process raises concerns of nepotism, with the team manager being Jessievash's wife, and the boomers appear to be long time best friends in the previous games that they played. I did a little research and I realized that fans have been seeking better representation of Filipino talent since their Bren Esports days in Challengers 2021 splits.

I also noticed that Invy, the newest recruit, seems to be performing relatively better than the rest of the team. This raises questions about how talent is being evaluated and chosen for the roster. As someone who wants to see the PH represented at the highest level in Valorant, it's concerning to see that Team Secret's performance has been underwhelming in international competitions, especially when other teams have successfully integrated Filipino players.

I hope that TS hopefully will consider evaluating talent objectively and prioritize representing the best players from PH instead to achieve better results in future tournaments. Open discussions and transparency can lead to positive changes for the team and the region's Valorant scene. Just my two cents fellow lil bros. All love.

It's not uncommon tho. I think India had that kind of problem in their government like with the politics before.

Nepotism exists everywhere sadly

That being said what the fuck does the Indian government have to do with Filipino valorant

TLDR: TS's selection process raises concerns of nepotism, with the team manager being Jessievash's wife, and Jessievash related to Jremy. Fans have been seeking better representation of Filipino talent since 2021.

I tried to shorten it as much as I can lmao.

isn't that invy related to vash?

Oh I'm not sure buddy but I confirmed that Vash's wife is the country manager of TS, Vash is also Jremy's uncle, and the 3 core have been best friends for a couple of years even in previous games before.

I had no idea how Witz and dispenser got dropped but I think that's a good decision. However, Jessie said on the stream that the way they select a player is each player gives 3 names and conduct a trial for the play that got majority votes.

if this is real and it is nepotism, then this could be quite serious. riot wouldnt want a team that just keeps the same roster (but of course riot really only wants money from franchising so...)

#55

Riot gives the teams money so they have 100% control over the franchise league. Their goal is to get as many eyes on valorant as possible so people play the game and most importantly buy skins. If they wanted TS to change they could

as far as I can see from VCT PH most of the tier 2 teams are mid, only the current secret roster is at the top right npw.

No one said to change whole secret team but you can surely find upgrades in the scene. Even very bad teams can have very good player(s)

But arent dispenser and witz good friends with jessie aswell? I do see your point about nepotism but Im not really sure its 100% the reason on why these players were picked

While Team Secret is still a good team, I believe they could improve so much. PH got the deepest (I said deepest not best) talent pool in Pacific.

It's all over their personal facebook. Filipinos use Facebook a lot and they post almost about anything and everything via Facebook. We also have nice friends from the Filipino valo community and ppgl to confirm a couple of things as well. They're so friendly!

When did I say I'd prefer nepotism over competency lil bro???? I was implying that jremy and vash are not related so idk what you're on LOL. And as far as i know, people were only memeing when they're saying vash is jremy's uncle. I'd like to be proven wrong tho.

thats literally how networking works lil bro

#58
MaTrix96
0
Frags

While networking is also important in esports, merit-based selection remains crucial for fair and high quality competition. Emphasizing skill and talent ensures the best players represent their regions like TS in PH, promoting growth and diversity in the scene. Too lazy to explain but here's a few points to take note of lil bro:

  • Compromises competitive integrity
  • Undermines merit-based selection
  • Denies opportunities to deserving players
  • Affects team performance negatively
  • Creates a negative image for the organization
  • Hinders diversity and inclusion efforts.
#60

not really, other teams are free to pick up good players if TS dont want them

I'd post the same thing if I got the chance to re-do yesterday lil bro. You can create your own post with your own opinion and your "facts", I think that'd be great. Love you lil bro.

#62

Jessievash and Jremy are not related lmao. It's just a joke running around since last year because Jremy stayed at Jessievash's house during qualifiers because he doesn't live in Manila which is in Luzon and he lives in Visayaz so Jessievash was like a tito or a father figure to him.

#65
MaTrix96
2
Frags
+

End of the day, it doesn't change the fact that they have a nepotism issue. Jremy didn't undergo a tryout and was referred directly by his previous coach retract because they were good friends with the clique. But if you're okay being represented by this type of roster then I guess that's okay, it's the "best of Philippines' representation" anyways.
