I don't get how people drink shit like monster and red bull consistently. They don't really taste very good, and the "energy" you get from them is 1)temporary and 2)unhealthy. They are incredibly addictive. There are also only a few groups of people that can actually find serious value out of energy drinks, like people who regularly go to the gym or people who work labor-intensive jobs. But seeing people like students or white-collar workers kind of just shows you have an incredibly shit diet and sleeping habits if you don't have the energy to make it through the day without hitting 500 mgs of caffeine.

coffee is good in moderation, too much can also be addictive. It's healthier tho if you drink it black or only with a little bit of creamer

There's actually less caffeine in a red bull can than in a cup of coffee. the main difference is the additive sugars in the energy drinks (which is why the crash is so much more intense).

1 can of red bull on a 25 year old body, for example, will have close to no negative influence. If used in moderation, it really is not a problem. This has already been proven, not sure what you're waffling about.

If moderation is removed from the conversation, then yes, it is a problem, but this is applicable to coffee as well, or even black tea. (or pretty much anything to be honest, including water)

for a normal person, you literally don't need any caffeine. Just sleep at a reasonable time (around 10:30), and eat 3 solid meals a day, making sure to get enough of your 3 macronutrients to have enough energy to make it through the day. Obviously you need to eat some greens to get micronutrients like vitamins and minerals, but in terms of energy you need sleep and macros.

if you have to wake up early, a small cup of coffee is good so you don’t crash driving to work. Then also a small cup around 11am so you don’t fall asleep after lunch

i'm convinced energy drinks and starbucks are a direct contributor to why teens and kids have such shit attention spans. not the only contributor obviously, but some big ones

energy drinks are readily available at stores vs making coffee or going to a coffee shop, starbucks drinks are usually chock full of sugar and caffeine and they are accessible almost everywhere in the world. just frying brains at an early age

i drink coffee for the taste and even then i have it black no sugar so i don't feel like drinking more after that one mug

might be a small sample size, but red bull was probably the most popular drink at my high school by a good margin. and that's coming from someone with a pretty severe soda addiction i luckily grew out of

coffee seems to be drunk at most ages from what i've seen outside, and also from when i worked at a coffee shop for a summer. you'd be surprised at how many young kids drink coffee and their parents don't bat an eye (and only like 5% of my orders were ever decaf)

i take energy drinks to help me focus. I’m currently in the process of being tested for ADHD, but the energy drinks help me sometimes when my brain is really unfocused and unproductive.
