Two of the biggest names in Valorant esports battled in a single elimination duel to make a run at the final chance at international glory of the year. After underwhelming 2023 regular seasons, both 100T and Sentinels came into the Last Chance Qualifier with dreams of redemption. Unfortunately for 100T, those dreams were ended at the hands of the resurgent Sentinels.

An elite performance from Cryocells couldn't quite keep up with the star-studded Sentinels lineup that put up big moments across the board. The Brazilian/NA crossover finally started to look cohesive for the first time since Sentinels were assembled during the offseason.

Pearl was a slaughter from start to finish, although the victims swapped halfway through. Sentinels ran roughshod over a 100T attack that failed to secure a single first kill until the final round of the half.

zekken led the way with an impressive 16-4 scoreline, and the rest of his team were close behind during a 9-3 first half that felt even more lopsided.

During the second half, aggression was the name of the game. Sentinels sprinted towards site executes in the first 30 seconds of most rounds while 100T rushed the extremities to either repel the hit or set up a fast flank. In the end, 100T found the right adaptations to the pace to push all the way to overtime.

An unbelievable 21-kill second half performance from Cryocells continued into overtime when he locked down Sentinels with a quick 3K to close the map 14-12.

Cryo ends the map in style.

Head coach MikesHD credited 100T's new assistant coach Eric with helping the team improve their defensive protocols over the break since their disappointing league performance.

An unconventional Harbor-Omen composition worked for map one, so 100T kept changing things up with a Chamber pick on map two.

It took six rounds for 100T to find their footing on Split, but once they got Cryocells the Operator, their defensive profile really took shape. His Chamber was set up at A early which allowed reinforcements to flow towards mid to flummox Sentinels' continued mid aggression.

So dumb it's brilliant.

Unfortunately for the thieves, their ability – or rather inability – to attack was transposed from Pearl. Sentinels won all eight of their attacking rounds for a 13-7 win that forced the series to a deciding map.

The crowd cheered, the broadcast talent gaped, and the players gave cheeky grins as both teams locked in Yoru on the elimination map.

Both Yorus topped the server in kills, but it was TenZ who had the larger impact. He continuously dominated Showers on the attack, and alongside zekken's Raze, enabled a dynamic and aggressive playstyle to keep 100T off balance. Playing a Chamber next to Asuna, 100T lacked the mobility to keep pace.

After a 10-2 first half beatdown, Cryocells tried to dig his team out of the hole with back-to-back 3Ks to open 100T's attack, followed by an ace to stave off elimination. 100T made a valiant effort to extend the comeback, but Sentinels quickly closed the map 13-7.

Besides Cryocells' series-leading 65 kills and 18 first kills, 100T struggled to find consistent impact. A couple streaks of rounds kept them afloat while Sentinels ran roughshod over the server.

After just a single match of play at the LCQ, 100T's VCT year ended. Sentinels move on to match up against another top NA team in Cloud9.
