The first map, NRG's pick of Haven, will certainly be a haunting memory for Liquid in the future. A strong first half from Liquid left NRG down 8-4 at halftime. A second pistol win for Liquid and a stellar performance from nAts pushed Liquid into a 12-7 lead, determined to take their opponent's pick.

NRG gradually climbed back into the map, winning five straight in regulation to force overtime. A rare top fragging showing from NRG in-game leader FiNESSE powered an NRG map win as the NA roster took seven rounds in a row to close out their map pick 14-12.

Liquid's pick of Ascent quickly served to even the scoreline in the series as another strong first half, this time on the defence, left NRG on the backfoot 7-5. However, Liquid would not choke away a strong lead again as the Europeans swiftly closed out their map pick 13-8.

The decider of Split became the most dominant map in the series as NRG put on an absolute show in dismantling Team Liquid. Liquid has continued to play a single duelist comp on the map and their insistence on playing an older style was easily handled by the NRG squad.

After a dominant first half from NRG to lead 8-4 at halftime, Liquid failed to take more than a single round on their offence. NRG took a relatively easy 13-5 victory to close out the series against Liquid 2-1.
