NA has above 25% of total player base and they have to fight brazil and latam for the slots and china is somehow getting 3 slots for free ?? how is this even fair? just make APAC into asia with 5 slots and china has to fight other asian teams for the slots

yeah idk why ppl want this. Literally in 2 years China and Korea might just dominate pacific. I rather china be their own region they have the esport infrastructure for that.

Do people ever stop complaining regarding this? It happened already so you’re going to have to deal with it
Edit: no shot you come onto this website after creating your acc 1 year ago and this is the post you want to start things off with 💀

u are talking about league of legends success in china not valorant . league is the biggest game in korea and korean valorant streams get like 10k viewers . valorant just released in china u gotta wait to see if the game is even a success in china before u treat china as an equal to 2 continents of north and south america

I assume you're replying to me, the reason why riot gave this slot is to kickstart the valorant chinese league because the game hasn't even been released yet in china, while other region has played this game for like 3 years now, Riot wants to kickstart the Chinese Valorant scene as soon as possible so that they can catch up to us. and also the potential market for Valorant in China is huge, they already have massive infrastructure when it comes to esports and they have tons of money invested in the esports industry. Of course Riot would do that

that seems to be an excuse not a reason. chinas (unproven and non existing) potential is being treated better than the 26% existing(real) player base of NA and 7% of brazil. riot made a MOBA thats popular in china doent mean an FPS will get the same success.
just like the mediocre valorant success in korea.

Esports is all about money

the reason why they are "treated better" is because they've never been treated with anything for the past 2 years, Riot only pay attention to the china scene last year with the east asia LCQ giving 2 slots to china to compete in.

again it's not about the playerbase, it's about the potential market that china brings. China have money to be thrown around in the esports industry and it would be stupid for Riot to not cater towards the chinese scene at all

If valorant doesn't end up super popular in china and the top chinese teams can't compete internationally because of a lack of talent (unlikely, look at what EDG is doing already), then they can always adjust the landscape later and merge china/pacific. But it makes much more sense from a business perspective to give china their full support from the start and hope for explosive growth rather than waiting until later when it's potentially too late.

wonder if the 3 slots is just for champs and will be reduced for masters next year every region sends in 4 teams for champs except china

From what I’ve read EDG alone can buy Rito and would still be left with money. So them being treated as a separate region is great for competition and ofcourse for Rito cause MONEYYYY

riot is owned by china thats why they are simping like this.
no other valid reason to make it a seperate region

China population 1.43 billion

Valorant hasn't even been released in China yet. So comparing player base sizes is asinine.
League is the most popular game in China though, and it's too be expected that Valorant will probably crack the top 10.

there has been 2 servers for hong kong for 2 years now so its valid to compare player base. your logic about "league players will play valo" didnt work in korea so u cant assume it for china . the korean viewership is very low for valo.

thats literally just 0.01% of the potential playerbase of china once it is officially online

how is this even fair?

It's fair because the government there only approved the release of Valorant in China this january

It's fair because Riot has only been giving China chances to compete internationally since last Champs

It's fair because they're the only country in the world who is 3 years behind in experience

#27

that doesnt mean u gotta get 3 slots .id be if fine riot wants to suck china off for skin sales with 2 slots anything more is like mocking every other region that has been playing valo so far

bro if they don't give them that many slots then only one other team from CN is gonna improve internationally?? The only reason why EDG has achieved what they have at tokyo is because they were given the international exposure that many opposed

so why NA lcs keeps getting 3 slots in league of legends these years though they can't even win 1 game against other big regions?

NA LCS WAS THE FIRST TOURNAMENT IN LEAGUE EVER AND THERE IS A HEALTHY PLAYER BASE THERE THEY DONT HAVE TO WIN A SINGLE TOURNAMENT AND WILL PERMANENETLY GET THE 3 SLOTS
