Does Valorant have a duelist problem?

Valorant has six duelists in the agent pool for pro play, but basically only three are truly viable (Jett, Raze, and Neon) and one stands head and shoulders above the rest (dont get me started on Yoru). The bottom line is basically only one duelist is a reliable awping agent (Jett), which is why her pick rate is levels above the rest of the duelists. Does Riot need to balance out the duelists similar to what they did for controllers back in the Astra meta?

Idk what nerf u can give jett that doesn't make her useless. The way I see it u need to buff other duelist like Phoenix and yoru to make them more viable

yea thats what i meant. I think Jett rn is okay but the other duelists need a serious rework especially reyna, phoenix and yoru

I think Reyna is fine. She was made to be a ranked agent. The other 2 I agree

it is a literal pipe dream to try to equalize pick rates for every agent, especially as more get added

some agents will be better in pro play and some will be better in ranked that's how things go

no you cant balance every duelist to give them equal revelancy. jett is good because awping is good - making every duelist good at awping would be terrible for the game

im not saying that every duelist should be good at awping. That would make for an awful viewing experience lol. But adding more viability for the bottom of the barrel duelists would be a nice touch as a viewer

yea. I had high hopes for neon last year but she has basically fizzled out ever since chamber nerf as a niche pick

pheonix- molly throw animation 50% faster and molly 50% bigger and does 10% more damage and make wall last 2 seconds longer
yoru-chamber tp but only fast tp when tp is in line of sight
reyna is reyna

people seem to be severely misunderstanding why agents are meta in pro

jett, raze, neon. what do these agents have in common?

at the highest level, movement is the make or break for duelists. the game is structured around timings and executes, and you need a space creator to be successful.

buffing phoenix mollies or reyna flashes is not going to allow them to compete with that niche. maybe as a secondary, but never the jett-raze-neon slot

yea i agree. Thats why phoenix and reyna are never picked as a primary duelist as they lack movement abilities, and even yoru is not as reliable compared to a neon, jett or raze

completely agree, pro players are too good at aiming for a duelist to open a site just by running out normally

If yoru is as fast as chambers tp he will be good agent to replace Jett in terms of op

i dont think its a good idea cuz yoru with this change can literally entry way too fast than intended given the fact his tp can travel far compared to chamber's

I think it's possible but the gun out animation needs to be similar or longer than chambers old tp

well this could work but biggest problem for yoru i think is he is so hard to play and the amount of prep work u need put in to make him work while jett and raze don't require that much prep work. Plus yoru's signature ability is so one dimensional compared to jett's and raze's

in reality jett needs a nerf but the comments here tell you exactly why riot wont do it -- too many people enjoy playing and watching Jett. People are willing to turn a blind eye to its pick rates to protect it. Riot gives community input alot of weightage over what is logical but i guess that is a business decision
