Toxicity

First, I want to start this post by saying RIP Twisten.

Second, I want to talk about the toxicity of this community.

Valorant has a quite toxic community. In comparison to other games, maybe it is not the worst, but it is still pretty toxic. As someone who plays the game daily, at a decent rank level, nearly half or more of my games I deal with toxic people. As much as I try to not let these people bother myself, it is almost inevitable. But dealing with toxicity in nearly every game is draining, and makes myself demotivated to play the game. Now, I am a somewhat casual player, yes I do take the game a little serious when it comes to becoming better, but I am definitely not a pro. I could not imagine what pros have to deal with. Forums on this website dedicated to hating/shitting on a player for their performance. Constant tweet's bashing a player. I mean seriously, being a pro must suck with all the shit they get. I have absolutely no clue why Twisten decided to take his life, but I think if this community tones down the toxicity, maybe that is all it takes to prevent another life from being taken. I am guilty of contributing to this toxicity. I know I am a nobody on this website, but my posts have just been low tier bait, and a couple of people have responded to what I have said. It is so easy for your comments to be seen, and it is so easy to send a comment without thinking about how it could affect others.

Out of respect for the players, I am done with stupid trolling on this website. Again, I know I am a nobody, but I want to apologize to the players and the community for adding onto the already massive problem that is toxicity. I am sorry.

TLDR - Toxicity can easily be spread without thinking of the consequences, try to be a nice person to everyone, and make the community better than what it is.

Agreed. Trashing is common in sports. But I see dumbass kids taking it too far. Like kyedae's cancer diagnosis and SicKs mental issues and many others.
Sickos typing from home behind screens while praying for others' suffering 👎

It's super devastating to hear what happened. But I'm not going to quit baiting like OP suggests.

It’s kind of a stretch to assume he took his life over toxicity, no? I mean we have no idea why he chose to do what he did, to say that Valorant toxicity was the reason is insane.

I didnt say that, I just said if we tone down the toxicity, it could prevent someone else from doing it. I may have worded it wrong.

You have a good message, I think I’m just emotional right now with what’s happened, I didn’t mean to lash out

I think everyone on this website should realize pros and coaches and still will see your words every once and a while. This isn’t an excuse to bait or justify saying negative things you don’t believe to get reactions, but rather to be better and spread positivity in this community.

I honestly don't remember a game where someone was genuinely toxic, of course there are people who give up early and surrender or just critique a play but thats not really toxic, sure the could say it in a nicer way but its still their opinion on the matter and I'll take it into consideration next time.

This is coming from an immortal 3 player from Europe, its really not that bad especially comparing it to CS:GO where I originally came from where I would quite literally be doxed in chat with my phone number and irl address etc... You would be called the N word every other game and hard griefed to the point of not getting trough doorways/being able to play full round before dying to a teammate.

Looking at the comments on the VIT-Giants game it becomes evident that some people need more self control. If a player happens to read shit comments like those then it can be possible that it would affect the mental state.

what pisses me off is that people think trolling has to equal hatred. it doesn't. you can bait and troll without making a pro player depressed as fuck reading your comment. some kids spread hate under the guise of baiting and it's fucking disgusting
