A good example of cool arrogance is Less, FNC's entire roster. Less recently shoots more bodies and has become so arrogant. But every time I see him play, I can say with confidence that he deserves to be that arrogant. He's been consistent from Champions 2022 to now, and has only gotten better.
And FNC, their entire roster has a different feel to it. Like they are a high-ranking guild or something. It is very cool.
Now, if Less was some random guy who started popping off since 2 matches ago, and if FNC was a team that was the DFM of EMEA and only started performing at a high level recently, then, you know, the green race car from Cars.
Then consider this, EG was shit on by every other vlr user on the site. Hell disguised called them shit publicly on twitter and nobody cared, they were ranked lowest NA team at the start, they were called T2, potter was called a horrible coach when they produced no results. Now they are top 3 in the league. So they are the green car from cars? They dragged their way to the top after being pushed off, they arent the overdog they arent this huge org with crazy signings, they are this core of players who slowly but surely rose their way to become the representatives of the most competitive league in valorant, they can talk all their shit imo its deserved, they accomplished their objective and they did it with style.
1-2 against NRG while calling their roster shit. Mmm, but that's style, right? 13-0 with this same roster, that's style too?
They have a long way to go until they "deserve it". Rocky didn't start talking like Connor McGregor after his first win. In fact, he wasn't arrogant even after winning. That's why Rocky is called the best underdog of all time. If you're going to go for an underdog image, you should at least live up to it, no?
Also maybe no disrespectful (that is easily discernable as disrespect and not as friendly taunt) behavior towards people with achievements?
So qualifying to the main event and beating a team that shit talked them isnt enough to warrant a shit talk back? You completely forget that it was chet and s0m that started the out of server shit talking. Notice how they barely talked shit to c9 after losing, yes demon1 shoots bodies in game he does that while losing and while winning its a part of the game. But alright lets paint these guys as the bad guys, despite it being chet that accused potter of badmouthing him (after getting questionmarled after a loss) and s0m that said they arent at their level yet.
Correct me if I am wrong but the s0m tweet was way before the Chet Potter drama, right? Now, that tweet is more of a friendly banter compared to saying "These guys are the champions" while posting raw stats of a single bad match. He even said GG to them. Demon1 after winning just jumped into it and started insulting (it felt like he was genuinely insulting them) and didn't even take a moment to say GG. A bit too much arrogance for my taste, especially when they aren't living up to the arrogance.
And for the Chet Potter thing, that's for the coaches to decide. You and I are supposed to have a neutral stance on the matter since it's impossible to know if what Chet said is true or if what Potter said is true.
The s0m tweet was after the first eg nrg game where he said they arent at the level to start bodyshooting. Chet said that they should have scrimmed them. Both were shit-talking before EG started to shit-talk. The way chet handled the situation is what was childish I have no idea if its true or not. Id like to believe its a misunderstanding.
Yeah I also think it was a misunderstanding. I also think that the s0m tweet wasn't that bad. And the Chet accusation tweet was posted in May 24, after their loss against EG. That is irrelevant to the players. I think trashtalk like "It will be easy" in interviews and shooting bodies is fine. But Demon1 was being a bit too disrespectful after just one game.
