typing speed

i'm stuck at 70~80 wpm using only eight fingers to type (not using pinky fingers).

do you think it's worth it to start learning 10 fingers typing? I tried to do it and it's hella uncomfortable and the speed i got is 20 wpm.
or should i just stick with 8 fingers typing? I want to be capable to type like 130 wpm at least

edit: monkeytype has harder variations of words. Do like english 5k or 10k cuz if you can spell longer words better than that improves all words. People just farm english 1k and then their typing speed is good on small words

a few months ago when i grind typeracer for 2 weeks straight

ya its hella worth just do monkeytype for like 5-10 mins per day and u will see results

plus how do u even type with eight fingers with 80wpm do ur ring fingers type the left/right side of ur keyboard? sounds pre inefficient

its definitely worth it, you get used to it after some weeks (can be even quicker if you practice intentionally on a daily basis)
also learning shortcuts is really useful, like Ctrl + Backspace to delete entire words, Ctrl + Shift + Arrow to select entire words, etc.

i got 105 wpm on 15s on monkeytype. best decision on my typing life to try using pinky

Everyone is out here with typing speeds of 100 plus and then there's me who uses my thumbs to type...
