tl:dr: sen is not done..... (or I hope for the sake of Sentinels fans and the careers of these players)

Yes, SEN are certainly looking like a bottom-half team at the moment with 5 insta-lock ascendent controllers, not a team with THREE world champions, a on the rise prodigy and a esports veteran.

I CAN NOT say that SEN is doing good right now (at all). But in the long-term I think SEN have a very strong roster and coaching staff. Even as early as the LCQ I can see SEN on the uprise and once we get into 2024 and 2025 (assuming they keep the core of their roster) I beleive they are not done. Once Sacy and pANcada transition into the new environment and team and chemistry improves, Kaplan improves as the coach then I see SEN becoming a genuine top 6 threat.

Backs against the wall, everything to play for it’s all or nothing now. Even the sentinels fans are starting to doubt. This is the environment where sentinels thrive.

This team has the largest set of asses in NA, perhaps even the world. Shazam is the greatest IGL in the game known for his strats “TenZ go kill” or less commonly known “Rawkus go twerk” TenZ is the greatest aimer in the world, there’s zero counter argument to my point. Zellsis has the second largest dumpy in the Valorant scene and is one of the best flex players in NA. Shroud is one of the most proven Valorant players in the world, most commonly known for his win against sentinels on team shroud. Douglas Apr AKA ‘dapr’ is the cutest professional player in the scene and is most commonly known for giving TenZ the ‘bf buff’.

Now this team must pass through the gauntlet of legends: The guard, SR/C9, Faze/EG, and NRG/100T. They will make the so called “analysts” who put these teams above sentinels look like fools. This run will truly go down in the history of Valorant and we will be looking back to this day even in 2122.

So I ask you, can you bet against sentinels?

SEN has insane individual players but the teams chem is off i can not think of any other problems (maybe dephh)

Yes, this was a problem and concern since the start. Sacy and Pancada both coming from LOUD where they'll (especially pancada) will be speaking their native language to Sentinels where it's def a big change in methodology and playstyle nobody would have expected SEN to just "be good from the start"

i mean i kinda did i thought they would be the best in NA but now they are the worst in NA

I think everybody had high expectations for this team. And it's def warranted. But SEN need time to adjust, by 2024 the rest of americas is doomed (except for LOUD)

Sen need a better IGL. International superteams rarely work without a very strong one

Is Dephh really a "terrible IGL" tho. We saw how good he was on XSET, obv he wasn't the sole IGL (I imagine maybe BcJ could share some responsibilities but yk). All Sentinels need is time and I can see them qualifying to Champs from the LCQ. Although Dephh prob isn't the best option, I can't say he isn't good enough for the team.

Dephh only igled attack side and Ayrin igled defence side. Sentinels have a 44% win rate on attack and defence. People keep saying that Sentinels need time but when you see the games it's quite apparent that:

  • Role issues are probably their biggest issues, they have 2 smokes (pancada and marved, pancada is a mid sentinel), 2 initiator (Dephh and Sacy) and a flex/duelist (zekken). Their biggest issue at the start of the season was Dephh moving into initiator to better call for the team but it hasn't work. Even if dephh was a half decent igl, most of the role issues is because of him. Get a sentinel IGL or someone who can flex to make way for comfortable role picks for your world champions.
  • Initiator role : Most of the best duelist play well with their initiator (Sayf and Derke), you have Zekken who's a god on the raze going 1 in first kill and 11 in first death. You can't execute into site every single time without proper support and calling :/
  • Calling : Dephh hasn't had a good read on C9 and EG, they got demolished cause of bad calling cause they keep rotating too early or too late. A cascade made them rotate entirely lmao with no info.

at this point, Sentinels have cooked enough. The season is short and a esports career is short lived. Opportunities are granted sparsely and you only have a limited window to prove yourself. LCQ is their last chance and if they don't deliver with these world-star players then it's back to the drawing board for SEN.

I never said Dephh is terrible. He could be very successful with an established core with strong synergy (like XSET)

I’m saying that it takes a VERY tactically strong igl (I’m talking the boaster’s and fns’s of the world)

You need to be able to successfully work with everybody’s strengths and weaknesses, differences in ego and mentality, and individual playstyle on the fly mid game while calling the correct strats to make a team like that work.

The perfect example imo is FaZe in csgo. With Karrigan they’re consistently one of the greatest teams in the world and major winners. Without him they were streaky at best and constantly underwhelming

that's true but imo Dephh has what it takes. Just look what he did with XSET, now he has his hands on a much stronger team, he has a much higher peak.

SEN would def benefit from a stronger IGL at this moment who can mold a team from the start but given time Dephh can mold this team into a championship contending team.

Dephh didn’t even igl both halves for XSET. I don’t think that time will change that much at all tbh

Given time they might at best make playoffs at an international lan. I definitely don’t see them challenging for championships though
