India Region.

I think for the next champions tour they could make a few changes.
India: Add to the SEA region so they get representation.
Australia: More connected to NA. For example for the qualifiers for Masters Iceland, 2 of the teams could be Australian. Similar to how they had it in EMEA.
Asia: Combine Japan, Korea, and China as one region and send it to 2 representivies. For example, it could work exactly like EMEA, where there could be 4 from Korea and 2 from Japan and China.

Australia can't really just play on NA servers with high ping for qualifiers.

Also CIS should have their own slot.

Im not saying that they should play with high ping, maybe they have their own challenger system and the winners of challenger 1 and 2 should be flown to NA to compete with the other NA teams who qualified from challengers.

I see what you mean but I feel that's asking too much of teams especially for a qualifier event.

That's true, but I feel it is unfair to the Aussies, who get to see other regions go to Iceland while their region is stuck in the dump. This one might be a little controversial, but maybe remove one stop from Brazil and give it to Australia.

Bro have you watched like any valorant? The best Australian team, Soniqs, are probably the 3rd best tier 2 NA team who just have no chance against most of the tier 1 NA teams and get shit on by RNG all the time. Yeah Sharks didn't do good at Masters but they did 2x better than what any Aussie team would do. I mean Soniqs literally just lost to fucking Teal Seam... They would have no chance at an International LAN. Since Berlin will have 16 teams I feel like BR should still get 2 teams, especially because I think Sharks aren't a top 2 team in BR and that they really just had a good tournament and that BR can field much better teams following their roster mania. Aussies shouldn't even be given a slot for NA challengers, since once again, the best Aussie team has shown that they are a tier 2 team in NA so idk why they should be given a slot in the quals just because they are from a different continent...

I think they should change SEA to involve all of Asia-Pacific (APAC) which would then include the Australian scene. Each country/region can have their own qualifier-esk stage, then have the best 2-4 teams from each play against each other

There is a lot of good Australian teams like Soniqs, they moved to NA because in Australia you can't get very far, only qualifying for the last chance stage at the end of the year. And this system where Australia is neglected makes want-to-be pros less likely to play which makes the region stale.

soniqs dominated oce, and are now tier 2 in na, not even the best in tier 2

And so would most of SEA, JP or Indian teams be, yet they have their own slot

No, this is a horrible idea. Whoever made this has no sense of how international travel and interregional competition works. When China releases, Riot will definitely make it its own region. Combining 3 separate languages doesn't work. SEA is so big already with 6 different regions, and adding India isn't a good idea. Just make it a new region South Asia like the LCQ outlines. Australia connected to NA is stupid. Asking teams to travel between regions is idiotic for qualifiers.

I know my reasons are not the best and could be optimized, but at least Riot should due something, for example, Team Mahi (Best indian team) has not played in any competitions in like a month

And? VCT India is releasing soon. Just chill.

They have played in quite a few tournaments actually , no idea why they don't show up here. Oh and coming from a Mahi fan , Mahi isn't the best team in India anymore , it's Global Esports who have our very own Indian jett , SkRossi. Some stuff happened with TM regarding one of the duelists leaving the team while under contract to grab a bigger contract and another duelist , and also the jett player leaving to form his own team which he wanted to guide and lead. So for about a month or so team was on and off practice and GE got better meanwhile. But the team has got a new bootcamp and a new duelist as well so we're looking to bounce back.

"horrible team" yeah sure the team which has only known 2nd and 3rd place as a "down phase" is bad lol. And the reason they are changing the name back to the old one is because the players wanted the old name and vibe back , Velocity Gaming is way cooler than Team Mahi , why talk about shit you don't even know smh , but then it's a gaming forum what should I expect

No way dude, NA is one region but people from west US and east US has to travel more distance than people from japan to play KR for example, or people from Germany or even England to play against any CIS team, it's stupid, we from Brazil can easily play against any Latam team, we don't even need visas and can enter each other countries freely, so can people from EU.

#11
NEYMAR
-1
Frags
+

EMEA - 5
ASIA - 4
NA - 4
LATAM - 3

Teams should duck it out on the entire region and only the best should be able to qualify, there's no reason to separate a region into countries if the countries can play each other with relatively low ping. It's absurd in my opinion to separate BR from LATAM for example, since we play against LATAM players in ranked, the same goes for EMEA and ASIA.

#14
hiyo

Frags

No, what? Why do you want to decrease Brazilian representation? just have 2 BR 1 LA
Also combining Asia would be horrible for the ping. EMEA is fine, but other than that I'm not sure combining regions is the best thing.

#22
NEYMAR

Brazil is actually part of LATAM this split is the stupidiest thing ever, there should be only LATAM and brazil being a part of it. We speak portuguese wich is a latin lenguage, Latam means LATIN AMERICA, so we are part of LATAM and we play against argentinians, chileans, colombians and every other LATAM country in ranked matches with low ping. This division is stupid, if Brazil was part of LATAM we could have 3 BR teams and no LATAM teams or vicev versa.

#25

Dude, you want to play on 70 ping? xD, riot has already split LATAM between BR, LAN and LAS. Riot had to bribe the Chilean government to allow cross-regional play between LAN + LAS

#28
NEYMAR

Don't you guys do it? If someone from LA plays someone from NY how would the ping go? Just find a server in between for the open qualifiers and the closed qualifiers to be held on LAN. I don't see any problem.

#37

ping , we play against Chileans and Argentines with 70 ping

#13

Yeah I think Riot could definitely make continental qualifiers before global LAN is played. So basically keep EMEA as it is; merge BR and LATAM regions; keep NA as it is(or make it Canada+USA+Mexico by pulling Mexican teams out of LATAM); create 2 seperate Asian regions - 1.) merge SEA, Oceania and India, 2.) Merge Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and eventually China.

And then the winners or high place finishers from those intermediate regional LAN events get to compete on global stage.

Champions: 24 teams instead of current 16

Europe - 3 circuit, Turkey - 1 circuit, CIS - 1 circuit, MENA - 1 circuit, EMEA last chance - 1 spot
Overall EMEA - 7 spots at Champions

North America - 3 circuit, Oceania - 1 circuit, NA + OCE last chance - 1 spot
Overall NA + OCE - 5 spots at Champions

Brazil - 2 circuit, Latin America - 1 circuit, BR + LATAM last chance - 1 spot
Overall SA - 4 spots at Champions

SEA - 2 circuit, Korea - 2 circuit, Japan - 1 circuit, India - 1 circuit, Asia last chance - 1 spot
Overall Asia - 7 spots at Champions

7 + 5 + 4 + 7 = 23, plus Masters 3 winner which makes it 24. And every single region gets represented well.

wait how does combined Challengers work for EMEA though? Circuit points are given for teams that qualify for combined EMEA Challengers, and that'll be the case next year with LANs returning

#23
Azift

That's a lot of EMEA teams in a tournament just to lose to NA.

#27
Olofboost

So 7 spots for EMEA is too much but 7 spots for Asia is fine?

Btw I put MENA there just for diversity, otherwise 3 EU + 1 TR + 1 CIS is justified.

Also the winner of Masters 3 qualifies to Champs, so if NA is so good then SEN win Masters 3 and "free" 1 circuit spot for other NA teams.

#29
Azift

I'm only half serious, it makes sense. Especially because of the large population of all of EMEA. Plus I believe they'll catch up and start beating NA given time.

this is great, I did the same thing but with 16 teams on the comment above. There's no reason to separate brazil and latam at the end of challengers, also no reason to separate asia, and no reason to separate emea or NA as well.
