people like that are the reason DM sucks -- shift walking, camping, holding angles

brother, i could explain to you so manny things about deathmatch... but if u tiped this, is bcause u are probably platinum or something like that, ( and its not a problem to be low level). I only will say this: theres a bunch of ideas on how u play dm's. U can learn how to hold a site, u can learn how to open pixels, u can only improve your rough aim, (thats what u talk about run and trying to kill ppl at any cost), u can play with OP... but the fact is, in the end, dsnt matter how u play dm. Cuz dm sucks, i agree with u. But not bcause ppl play like that, dm sucks cuz people blame others for their own failure. If you play rushing, the chance of losing the fight is about 75, 80%. That's why you don't evolve in ranked, bcause you guys don't shoot in dm, like ranked. ;). But if u wanna keep with your opinion about one clip of ads in dm, fine by me.

I don’t think he’s just being annoying. He has a point. But he IS mistaken- you’re not actually doing anything bad here.
I’ll use myself for example - I play two roles usually depending on the agent, entry or lurk/anchor
So therefore in death match I play the style for the agent I play on that map (ex: I play smokes/sentinel haven so I play slower on haven DM’s.) but the whole problem isn’t playing slow, it’s being cowardly- sitting still in a corner and waiting for someone to walk into your crosshair is not helping your aim at all. So on a haven death match, although I’m playing slow, I still move around a small area and jiggle peek angles and then after a bit I’ll switch the area im playing in. And then on a different map where I play entry, I just run around and kill hunt to simulate taking aggression and entrying.
So now when I’m playing like either one and I die to someone sitting in a safe corner waiting for people to walk into their crosshair, you can imagine it’s frustrating, for two big reasons. A, I know they’re not helping themselves and I feel like they’re stupid, and B, it’s an unfair fight where I don’t get a chance to practice, which is the goal of a DM.

TLDR: yeah, both of you are right. You aren’t doing anything wrong in the clip, but he isn’t incorrect that camping/holding angle players tend to ruin DM. It’s good to play death match in different styles for how you play on that map, but campers and angle holders ruin it as they aren’t actually helping themselves and it ruins others chances to practice aim as they don’t even get chances to take an aim duel, and their time is wasted by the respawn timer.

yeah, your right. but the problem was, he took a clip of some kills and start to flame me cuz of that. I agreed, camping is bad, shiftwalking in dm also. But i only shift walk to kill jett in that clip, cuz i wanted to hold that spot, u know? If u understand about the game, i just clean angles with A and D there, with crosshair placement. I dont blame him to be pised, but it is what it is, is better when u face ppl camping, cuz if u manage to smack their asses even if the guy is camping, u are probably a way better player overall. In the end, ppl need to stop crying and practicing different kinda game ideas. I would not be top 250 radiant with 60hz, if i only played dm rushing like a lunatic.

Yes you’re right
Beating a camper 100% means you’re better
Only point is that they aren’t helping themselves and they’re hurting other peoples chances at getting better

yeah, but they are killing ppl getting better, cuz those ppl dont know actually how crosshair placement works. Cuz if they think: "hmm maybe theres a camper here... let me clean this properly", i assure u, they will get a lot more sucess against campers, and they can use this in ranked, cuz ppl play ranke like rats sometimes haha

You’re right about everything you said about dm (that you don’t improve by running around like a chicken just because it’s dm) but shifting is ACTUALLY cringe

I mean, when developers have spawns set so that you spawn right behind enemies in deathmatch STILL, its not surprise deathmatch isnt optimal, but there isnt a right or wrong way to do it IMO. As annoying as it can be to fight those people, usually its not a problem if youre just playing your game...practicing what you need to practice, but I agree the mode needs big changes.

MAYBE EVEN - HEAR ME OUT...Disable shiftwalking in DM??? You can still crouch and crouch walk. Fix up spawns, no kill limit, players can come and go. A lot more goes into it and I'm sure it's harder to balance than one would imagine

i agreed 100%. They should do a lot of changes. and add more time, not winning in 40 kills.

bros shiftwalking and holding angles in a dm expecting us to cream our pants

the issue is that people in dms are listening for audio of people moving so you’re more likely to hit those shots in dms than in actual comp. people EXPECT those rat angles in comp, they don’t expect to clear every single fucking corner in a fast paced deathmatch intended to warm up their aim. doing this in a dm serves as no testament to your true skill since you’re standing still and making little to no noise. shit is so cringe

and calling people plat for giving constructive criticism is even more cringe.

SHIFT WALKER L

"shift walker" "cringe" this comment section is sad as fuck. the same people who care about this usually the same people who try to get 1st place in a mode that does not matter at all

I hate people who complain about this because its literally going to happen whether you like it not

Hes got the right purpose of using deathmatch to practice a certain mechanic in deathmatch and that should be totally okay to do. Even if hes shift walking or holding an angle that will apply directly in a real match. Like it or not deathmatch is for you to practice whatever you want. Sit in a corner with a judge or hold that angle bro or learn when to soundwhore and prefire someone walking to your angle DEATHMATCH ITS FOR YOU TO PRACTICE A NEW TECHNIQUE AND WARM UP ITS REALLY NOT THAT DEEP!

deathmatch is not the place to practice stuff in that scenario, not for the sake of others, but for your own sake.

in a comp game, people will check that angle. in deathmatch, they wont because people are listening for audio 80% of the time. what is he practicing? ADS? cool, do it in a situation where people are aware of you so you can practice in a real scenario, not in a situation where you have the off-angle because (like i said earlier) that off-angle won't exist in comp. it's cringe but above all else practicing that mechanic in a controlled environment while producing 0 sound is shooting yourself in the foot since comp will be nothing like this.

tl;dr practice ads when people are shooting back

Lol did you not see people checking the angle he was in? rewatch the video, its almost as if everyone who died in that clip was already pre-aiming the angle he was in since hes been shooting from that spot the whole time. He isnt holding some 'cringe' ass angle or corner to peoples surprise

You should be allowed to do anything you want in deathmatch. Practice your own thing. Of course doing this in a real game in that position situationally this is more wrong than right but I think youre missing the point here - hes learning how to use ADS and hold a swing it really isnt that deep!

I also want to add that dude wasnt even crouch walking for most of the clip. you can hear his footsteps in many parts of the video

dude people were obviously shooting back. When you spawn, you can see all the players in the minimap for a second. So most of them definitely knew where he was, and infact if he makes little to no sound, its almost guaranteed he is still playing that spot or holding the angle. It's still a good technique to practice. Also what is cringe? What if he didnt get more than 2 kills? Would that be not cringe, or he should just leave that angle and go in the open to be shot from long, spawn, and elbow to be not "cringe". Its like going out in the open and dying with no reason to be socially accepted as not "cringe" lol. Also the way deathmatch is right now, the players spawn extremely close to you and being in the open means being shot from three angle which is completely stupid, imo flawed mechanic in the game you could say. Also, it really is hard to hold an angle in dm, just as I said, atleast 2 or 3 people spawn instantly and they know your location and atleast 2 may be rushing you, so when some of the people in dm do get those kills, you could credit their skills because it really aint easy to just get 4 or 5 just from holding shift, because everyone knows where you are and are most definitely gonna preaim that spot.
