I had the same thought about team throwing, LOCK//IN is just risky in general, you could try your hardest to get into top 3 and get kicked from the whole tournament after 1 loss because there's no lower bracket at all, this just set you up to fail in upcoming masters

you have to remember more than half the teams here didnt get here through merit so the punishment for not performing is brutal which is apt. I dont mind non-merit teams who got franchising getting rolled and going home after 1 match.

It’s simply disingenuous to think these teams WANT to lose. Even if it means they’ll do worse later, winning lock in is such a boost to an org’s brand and fanbase, that’s its absolutely worth it. Plus the players WANT to win. Nobody wants to go home especially not in the first round.

If they lose, it’s bc the other team was better that day, in that match. Simple as that.
