He seems pretty effected (emotionally) by the quakes in southern Turkey, and to add to that.. his close family seems to have been hit hard

This doesn't just apply for alfajer, could we expect most Turkish players (especially eastern Turkish players) to underperform due to the current situation

Thoughts?

Of course, it can happen, it's natural, they are human and it's a shitty moment. I hope the best for him and for the Turkish people. Sending love <3

they can underperform, while others might have more motivation to win for their countrymen. it may also not affect them while they are competing but will affect them during scrims/preparation (this happens to me whenever i go to a competition, i seem to forget all shitty things in my life during competition and it will only come back to me at the end of the day/night when i sleep)

I don’t get why people act like this affects them sooo much?

Everyday people die in turkey and it is a big country, why is it presented as such a „trauma“ ?
Of course it’s sad for the people that lost their home or relatives, but as long as you don’t know victims personally, most humans don’t care at all for other destinies deep in their hearts.
Most only care about themselves to be honest.

Plus at least it is a natural catastrophe and not a stupid unnecessary war

Be honest, if 200 people died at the other side of US, would you really care? Like genuinely?

I’m sick of all these people pretending to be so nice so they can feel more accepted by the society

Still people in such situations deserve all the support OF COURSE.
I just can’t stand all these hypocrites online

Man, I don’t say it isn’t a horrible thing.
It totally is.

But Im just honest that I can’t empathize as much and I think most people feel that.
Dude you don’t even know what kind of things happen every day to innocent people, but who of you truly cares?

Is it really that disturbing that a couple hundreds people of your country (that you don’t even know) died that you can’t do your job (playing a video game) anymore?

Ofc if some of the players knows someone from the victims, I’m very sorry for him and then I could fully understand a delay of the match and mental issues

What if 20,000 PPL died on the other side instead??, The estimates go upto 25000 at a conservative estimate in turkey, entire cities like hatay have literally stopped existing bro, imagine if the entirety of LA, San fran and Seattle were wiped

????bruh
in my country there's like a destructive disaster every month, the amount of it and things that i have personally experienced shouldve made me numb to things like this already but it still makes me sad seeing the destruction it brings to the people and how shits like that can destroy a person's future

I’ll give you an example.

imagine your love/girlfriend cheated on you.
Now imagine suddenly 10.000 people died of an earthquake.
What would make you more sad? Objectively the second occasion is way more tragic and a „good“ human should say this is more saddening for him.

But if you’re being honest, everyone would be 10x maybe 100x more sad if his girl cheated on him

That’s what I was trying to say.
Btw because you know how it feels, it makes you empathize more.

i mean ofc i would be more sad with my personal problem that is normal but it doesnt mean i cant be sad to a tragedy that happened to the country. this is not a subject talking about the degree of sadness you feel compared to others but whether you feel sad or not

Bad take bro.

Everyday people die in every country, but a national tragedy? It’s a big deal.

Do I think it will affect their performance?

I don’t know.

No one does.

Everyone is in incredible solidarity and there are even those who go to help earthquake victims in this cold
Every person in our country is valuable to us
If it's not for you, there's nothing I can do...

I replied because I don't think you're a troll and I'm sure you're not kidding

I really think that's what you think and I think it's very thoughtless

I don’t troll on a serious topic like that.

Yes I think that is the human nature. At least from my perspective.
I hope I am wrong though and I didn’t mean to insult anyone.
But I think most people always want something back when giving sth. There is no „unconditional love“ I believe
