DOTA is better because the game is complex (in a good way) and has more things happening in the micro but LOL is easier to watch. Unless you're a DOTA player watching DOTA will be difficult af.

The best part about DOTA is how even when you're dominating a game you can lose it due to enemy making a change in itemization. People have pulled back games from 100% loss by making certain items (like divine rapier, scythe of vice etc) but if you're not aware of these items the game is just too confusing to keep up with.
