I have an exam tomm for which I haven't even started studying.

Also, we don't really get Japanese curry in India. Like barely any restaurants have this. The only food you can probably find from Japan is probably Sushi/Sashimi and even that in very select cities.

I did have someone I know who went to Japan this summer and he said Japanese curry is mid and bland (at least for Indians).

In fact Japanese food is in general bland and mid. Ofc I haven't tried authentic Japanese food firsthand so this is hearsay.

Imo the beauty of japanese food is the quality of the ingredients, not really the explosive flavor. a lot of stuff is quite mild like you said
but stuff like freshly caught fish in sushi and the eggs that you can eat raw with rice are chefs kiss

I kinda agree with you. But,

Say this in an Indian restaurant and you will get kicked.

Anyways OP wanted to know if Indians like it, and the Indian standard of how good food is very easy to calculate.

Just count the number of spices that went into it. Or just take the Scoville measurement and you will have a very accurate representation of the taste of the food on an Indian tongue.

Japanese food (and for matter most European food) is quite bland for Indians.

Like most Indian restaurants don't even care how well they are cooking the Chicken. You could get overcooked chicken with the texture of rubber and most Indians will gladly eat it as long as it is "spicy".

In fact, 90% of meat in India is overcooked (unless you go to a really good restaurant where the chef isn't obsessed with spices). Eggs in India are always hard-boiled (if you serve soft-boiled eggs the people here will literally call you a madman) and the Indian version of scrambled eggs is extremely "overcooked" by EU standards.

Ofc this is all good as long as you can serve spices along with it.
