Is anyone else not a fan of the new regionalizing

I feel like esports already had well defined and supported regions, I don't understand the choice in compressing them into 3. It seems to be an attempt to get rid of the "minor region" trope but especially with a br team winning champs i think they should just let the regions speak for themselves.

like i cant even see the fans supporting this, will br fans support sentinels? representing the "americas". and even financially there are so many orgs that would have loved to make investments into valorant but were denied spaces it just really doesnt make sense to me

Just get through ascension
Also that sentinels point doesn't even make sense, BR fans will cheer for BR teams just like in any other game... Sentinels doesn't represent Brazil, they represent NA, regardless of both being in the same division

the idea is probably derived from that they looked at league's import problem, specifically in NA, and tried stopping it before it happened. Issue is that NA is the best region in VAL, and BR just won champs, and now both North America and South America are probably just gonna be stunted by this. I really think NA and SA should have just been separate, and have like 6 or 7 teams each or sum. Its not fair on South American players or orgs to make them basically move to LA to play T1 VAL, NA has too much talent to cut into 5 teams, its all messy

It's a textbook American sporting model, less about merits more about longterm (financial) stability and security for the investing parties which in turn gives riot more investments.

It sucks because it will mean that up and coming players/teams will not be able to make a run for the title unless they get signed by a team that is part of the closed system. It will also probably ruin regional leagues in smaller regions for the short term.

It should be the 5 LCQ regions: NA, SA, EMEA, EA and APAC

but now brazil teams have to qual trough NA and latam to get to lans lol,its very likely we will completely miss some regions in a lot of tournaments now
