KR gets 5 slots is KR OWL pros are switching over.

No offense to other Asian regions but if Tier 1 OWL pros switch to Valorant it's gonna be such a huge talent boost. KR is already lowkey an anomaly with such a high amount of talent compared to the viewerbase/playerbase - having OWL pros would be insane.

Xzi, an OWL pro was smurfing on VS in a showmatch.

Kind of random question but cba to make a thread. What game did BuZz come from? I couldn’t find online

i didnt mean professionally or anything, just like what was his prior fps experience. like for example, zekken played csgo before val, but he wasn't a pro

yeah i didnt hear about him regarding other games. tbh i doubt he played cs, it will probably be some other game. or perhaps valorant is his first game.

if it is, hes insanely talented to make it pro 4 months after official release. I'm sure it must've been overwatch if not csgo. or sudden attack? (I'm not Korean but I assume that's like korea's main FPS game)

yeah im thinking its either ow or sudden attack too. but there are lots of young kids who have valorant as their first game that are just super fuckin cracked - and buzz is very young too.

idk it's been two years I feel like they'll just get owned by teams with actual strats

#5

mechanics wise they'll tear it up. strats can be taught.

look at babybay. he was nothing compared to KR OWL pros.
look at sayaplayer. guy was famous for his widow aim for sure, and he had the 3rd highest acs at reykjavik despite Guard going 0-2. there are pros better than saya 100%.

i wish we saw valorant before overwatch. imagining players like Carpe, Profit, Saebyeolbe, Pine, ANS, Stitch, Alarm, Decay, Viol2t, Jjonak, the list goes on and on...

both babybay and saya started from the beginning tho, I think it will be a year before any of these players can be anything besides maybe a duelist on a team of 4 experienced players, not gonna be that impactful imo but we'll see

true, babybay had CS experience and that helped him transition.

saya fell off really hard after the jett nerfs. i hope he can come back to his stage 1/reykjavik form

i believe he'll be fine. his raw aim is nutty, and according to mCe he was doing amazing as Chamber in scrims, so it's just a matter of translating it to a real game.

hes definitely a talented chamber player, he just struggles to play raze/neon which are the new meta duelists nowadays.

I rather believe washed CS pro dominating

technically the VS roster was a bunch of washed CS pros

right but Xzi still smurfed vs VS, so i think it's possible

In that case Riot should just made KR their own franchise region, that way the KR imports should be interested in coming back more to KR scene alongside the wave of switching OW pros to VAL since we know China will almost definitely get their own franchise league when the game officially release there at some point in the future.

yeah, they should. I hope they do, but ngl it would be spicy to see KR teams vs SEA/JP teams. If DRX were the kings of Asia despite not having the best Korean players, imagine a KR superteam...

The only other scenario is KR orgs mixing JP and KR roster, not looking to great for other SEA countries tho

Sounds weird but "Jap" is actually a slur in some places! Perhaps it's better to say JP? I think we should treat JP fans with the same amount of respect they treat us.

The right term is either Japonazz or anime people

Ah sorry, don't know it's a offending term for JP fans. I'll edit it

yeah. normally i wouldnt say anything tbh (thats not a good thing actually, i should work on it) but i think if any fanbase deserves respect its the japanese

pro players switching over from other games and immediately get a place in the top league? That's fucked up

#21

bruh, isn't that just going to lower the level of competition? having players that have grinded the game for the past two years instead of players that just switching games would be better and more deserving for them imo

true it will. it's possible these pros have been practicing in secret tho

Korean orgs do not have to field korean rosters. I would not be surprised if at least one invests into japan or SEA. If Xerxia don't make franchising, that would be a super easy pickup for one of the korean orgs. I believe that the main reason for riot to choose these korean orgs over ones from Japan or SEA is financials and previous relationships.

#33

do we know the korean orgs are actually 'korean'? Korean orgs have the best financials of any apac orgs so I imagine the koreans orgs will not be korean similar to T1 in NA but for SEA
