x0tek joined just days prior to Bob "Bob" Tran, both hailing from Soniqs Soniqs Inactive . While the former replaced longtime coach Chris "Dream" Myrick, Bob would replace Annie "AnnieDro" Roberts, who stepped down to pursue content creation.

The report points to Ryou "MoonChopper" Nishiyama, currently the women's strategic coach, as their future coach. He has been with the team since Cloud9 signed them, but will now trial for the coach position.

Cloud9 White have just over a month to find their new coach. The third and final GC event, Series III, begins with an open qualifier on October 6. The team currently sits atop the GC points standings with 160 points, trailed by Shopify Rebellion GC Shopify Rebellion GC Inactive 's 120 points. Cloud9 White can afford to lose the event to Shopify Rebellion, as long as they're not overtaken in the points table, and still qualify for November's Game Changers Championship.

Ever since Game Changers' first event in March 2021, Cloud9 White have been the uncontested best team in North America. In their history, only Shopify Rebellion and Misfits Black Misfits Black Inactive panday Tastyy Carlee Carlee Gress edith Eden Bryce Cutlip Slandy Presley Anderson have been able to take maps against C9 White. Most recently, the former managed to outclass them 2-1 in the upper semifinal of GC Series II, but C9 White scored a monstrous lower bracket run that culminated with a 3-1 grand final revenge over Shopify Rebellion.
