Do you actually think all those unsucessful tier 2 orgs would even have a chance to get a franchising spot?
They haven't qualified for shit the last 2 acts and only won those mickey mouse tournaments and suddenly they leave valorant because they couldn't get a slot on the most important and prestigious league for tier 1? Bullshit

Plus, the fact they won't even wait to see riot's plans for the tier 2 shows how much commitment they had with the game and the scene, therefore riot was right in denying them a position on the league. They were just waiting for a somehow solid reason to dump their val teams and save money.

One thing is not get a spot, another thing completely different is have no perspective of ever get a spot in a big tournament... It kills the porpouse of crating a team at all to compete...

there's zero chance all the spots for international lan come from only the franchise spots, that would kill the whole competitive scene, riot is dumb and small indie company but NOT THAT DUMB to kill their new game

it's exactly how it's gonna be

Tier2 will be stuck in eternal hell with no chance of promotion or international appearance, basically a player pool to produce upcoming talents for tier1, who will move on to a new team as soon as there's an opportunity

International slots something like this, 12 to 16 teams:

Americas - 4-6 from franchised league (likely 4)
EMEA - 4-5 from franchised league (likely 4)
Asia - 4-6 from franchised league (likely 4)

with only three leagues you can 100% be certain that each one will receive an equal number of slots barring an extra for winning the previous event.

I expect the 12 team masters to stay. 4 teams from each league works well, any more and you have over 50% of the participating teams travelling.

Champs throws a wrench into it, since with 16 teams it's impossible to divide it equally between three leagues. Perhaps they might allow the league which won the previous masters to send an extra team, or have a slot for T2 competition to resolve this.

I'm not sure whether it's gonna be equal slots for all leagues

Right now:
Masters distribution: 5 Americas, 4 Asia, only 3 EMEA
Champions distribution: 7 Americas, 6 Asia, only 3 EMEA

They have a hate boner for EMEA, I feel like it will be transferred to the new 2023 season as well

They quit because there are no positive signs of Riot setting up anything for tier2 in foreseeable future, this year they didn't do anything for teams outside of VCT, why should orgs be hopeful for something better?

They quit because it's dumb to pay your players large salaries hoping that at some point in autumn 2022 or 2023 your spendings will be noticed and rewarded for being patient, but in fact no one will give a shit about your perseverance

There are not even solid shit about the tier 1 scene, for christ's sake, we only know a little about it. They don't have any success outside of mickey mouse tournaments and they want to get rid of their val teams and now they got a """"""""reason"""""""""

Paying big salaries and huge contract fees is all on the dumb NA policy of overpricing the players, the orgs themselves are helping to make the scene worst, it's been discussed since forever in here. Plus, they already have no perspective on this year, their year was over after not getting a chance on LCQ, highly doubt they would release their players without any fine or shit, they just needed a reason to dump the guys. I feel bad about the players, not the org.

Imagine you're Akrew head of esports

You entered Valorant to get the slice of popularity of a new game, increased brand value, farmed social media accounts, signed contracts with new sponsors, took a cut from tournament winnings and so on

Everything was fine, but now there's a big ass offseason all the way until 2023, you have no idea what Riot is planning, you have no idea how their support for tier2 will look like, you have no idea how popular tier2 is gonna be among casual audience, you have no idea whether it's smart to trust Riot secret plans and keep wasting money on current roster until further announcements come

Then you pause Valorant division, you might come back when things are clear and they have a good scheme for next year, but currently it doesn't make any sense to just fully give yourself to the hands of shitty Riot with the way they've managed this esport so far, there's horrible ecosystem in all regions and they don't do anything about it

like it was said on another thread, it's possible riot already presented the plans for t2 scene to those orgs and they still chose to leave

Well, plans must've been dogshit then

Not surprised, Riot bury this esport alive over time, they prohitibit organizers like ESL and BLAST to interfere, but at the same time fail to create a good system themselves

there is a reason why they are called T2 why are you so obsessed with them not qualifying international what they want is a T2 league where they can play and earn enough to keep their org profitable. From your post, it looks like you are just plain dumb and riot paid you
