1st Seed byes are bad

Instead of giving them byes all the way to playoffs, they should be given a place in the winner's bracket of group stage so they only need 1 win to go through. Many teams that come from group stage gets warmed up while the first seeds have to fight fully fresh and kinda makes them easy target for the now warmed up team.

every first seed but xset won, if a team has previous LAN XP, getting a bye to playoffs is a very valuable thing

I think they should all get a bye, but then they should all play one round robin to determine seeding 1-4. Then 1st place gets to pick their opponent then second then etc....

It would add more international games, plus make the group play in seeding more important and the playoff seeding less random

no advantages, they should just get a higher seed and more money, thats enoug

That is not true for all teams.

PRX seems pretty comfortable going directly into playoffs.

DRX would also greatly benefit from directly skipping groups. They are known for executing set plays. Teams counter-strat them after watching most of their good maps in the groups. It really hurts their chances. However, they are always forced to play in group stages.
