Why is India so bad, like there are a few who are mechanically good but nobody is like world class and they have terrible fundamentals and their utility is mediocre at best. Every Indian team is almost close to each other but are far worse interms of other teams in Asia (I saw SO MANY players peeking when they have one or two man advantage and they lose their fight 85% of the time) They dont need strats or comp changes, what they most probably require is a mentality shift, discipline and just playing as a team instead of each player trying to fight a 1v2 or 1v3 at the start of the round

SA teams already scrim with SEA teams. 60 ping ain't that bad to scrim tho. Also SA teams get 35 ping from Chennai, southernmost point of India, which isn't bad.

All SA teams only scrim APAC, none of them are scrimming SA teams (atleast the top ones)

but does good teams actually play seriously in scrims? why would they reveal theri strats?

#34
Minimise
13
Frags

yes teams play seriously in scrims, thats the whole reason they scrim a different region so they don't have to show strats. If you are not taking a scrim seriously what is the point in practising or scrimming ur just wasting ur own time

#35
RAOSHAB
0
Frags

afaik vlt performed really good in scrims but still they choke in real matches

#36
Minimise
18
Frags

probably a few factors, its easier to be confident and take more risky plays in scrims where there is nothing to lose, alot of teams in scrims are willing to take risk and push to take areas but in officials they play more safe because more on the line. You probably only heard about velocity doing well in scrims, not when they did bad/average. Scrims are different, people aren't juiced up on caffeine or warming up for hours so there can be alot different, also teams work to practise certain aspects of their game, they dont practise to win.

For example velocity could seek to test their skill against a strong apac opponent to have good vod review footage/see what level they are at while the other team could be thinking lets practise our default or communication or whatever. Doesn't mean that anyone is not treating the scrim seriously but obviously there would be different in result compared to official.

I have no clue what velocity actual scrim results are so I couldn't tell you what the issue is or prove/deny ur claims but its not that teams aren't taking them seriously its just there are factors that effect results of scrims compared to officials.

Obviously this is a long post for a vlr random thread but hopefully you can understand better

do top SA teams scrim top APAC teams like PRX, Bleed, Onic, Xerxia or do they scrim against mid/low tier teams from APAC and im guessing they have outside factors like time which make it impossible for them to scrim against good apac teams since good apac teams would most probably decide to scrim against good teams

Things take time dude, If you know these mistakes, then top players and coaches here already know these issues. Its been 7-8 months when india got its first opportunity at APAC. If riot franchising doesn't destroy scene then wait till 2023 to actually have good competition.

#13

wrt apac teams, maybe. But overall apac improved so much wrt NA, EU. Also, we might see 2-3 more LANs btw SA and SEA after LCQ, which is huge for scene.

#14

It will never happen most probably.

Don't look at Japan and hope that SA will surely repeat that. India was actually decent in CSGO in some of the earliest majors and qualified for international events and even went up against some of the best teams. It all went down from there. Unless there is some major change, APAC LCQ might be the last tourney where an Indian team actually upset a decent team.

#15

If GE doesn't qualify today, then there might be no indian team in APAC LCQ.

SA teams got shit on in Challengers 1, does not look too different for Challengers 2, which means our teams will not be in APAC LCQ anyways.

Oceania (soniqs had good plans but are mostly unsuccessful in NA) Bonkers hardly won 1 match and had the same results as velocity.

Japan before masters 1 2022.

KRU before champions

SEA before champions.

HK/TW has been getting slots since prev year yet they have a 1-1 score with SA.

Vietnam.

india as a region doesnt have a good fps / computer gaming scene
most kids play games on mobile due to lack of money
and parents are also not really supportive of the becoming gamers
things like these take time and support from community

ur ranting and crying is not gonna help , but yeah nvm

#22

I would just say they need to scrim a lot in SEA because everytime 2 teams go to APAC qualifiers they just get Butchered.
Also, PC games in India isn't a phenomenon most of the people are into COD Mobile and PUBG. Not to forget the parents problems right? See they are decent at best but they need to like scrim against SEA teams just so that they can find some new strats and counter them.

Why so much hate towards indian teams?? They are really not that bad and if anything we have learnt in this game from Masters and everywhere else anything is possible and i can see the possibility of indian teams making huge upsets in apac.

I think the hate is simply because some of the 'Fan'atics like hype them over the moon that's why when they feil like people talk about these teams. I think Valorant fans of the scene and in general know that they are relatively inexperienced compared to the other regions in VCT. People just hate them because of the overhyping fans similar to why people are waiting to hate TenZ ( because of his overhyping fans )

#51
KillFeed
6
Frags

I'm sure it used to be like that last year but after a lot of international exposure, most Indian fans realised we are only a big deal in South Asia... i haven't seen any skrossi hype posts or anything in recent times and usually, it's just people talking about particular matches and tournaments being held which is to be expected...A lot of people just have hate boner for India on this forum

#55
Rebellion2408
1
Frags
+

Half true bro people do have hate boners for India because like some of the fans just spam something or the other in the other pro players chat while they're streaming ( not generalizing I am saying some of them ). So like obviously there would be slight hate. But the other hate is just normal hate boner. And besides it's because Global Esports after nearly eliminating Korea from last years APAC Lcq, and then underperforming in Playins was like the perfect chance for the other fans to get back at GE because they're fans kindda overhyped them.

Now I think slightly the spamming has reduced as you said because of the underperformance but I just hope fans don't keep spamming and just normally support.
As for GE they need to play slightly methodically and improve their aim in general

#53
noxx
0
Frags

my post wasnt to show hate towards SA teams (im sorry if it came out that way), my point is top Indian teams are majorly underperforming and are showing really really bad game knowledge in general. Every game feels like a pug while other regions like My/Sg or PH look really good but i really hope something changes about this and they get better as a region or heck i dont even mind one team from india being top class just one but for that to happen we need to see some weird magic voodoo shit that Zeta did during masters 1 (the improvement from groups to playoffs that team showed was actually mind boggling)

#49
virtz
5
Frags
+

I think this goes back to old indian f0rsaken destroying Indian CS. PH teams get to play with chinese teams like Tyloo but they are not putting large numbers and Korean, Thailand players are so good with their aim but they struggled a lot on coordination and strategies. I don't know about any other region's result in SEA hltv but they aren't on the spotlight either

Honestly it's the mindset. People in India don't have the mindset to the game. If we improve our mindset we'll definitely be better. It's not that we don't have talent our brains are blocked completely. Plus there could be few family issues with the proffesional players and the could be aiming for some flash plays and get famous and stuff and earn money.

A very minority of Indian kids are interested in PC gaming professionally. EU for e.g provides the motivation for the kids to play professionally and that's why the scene thrives or just take China/Korea/Japan with League of Legends.... extremely talented people given the means to make it big. As long as people in here aren't serious about games no one would even know if the people here just have no talent with respect to gaming or a lot of potential is left untouched. Personally...idk if it will get popular here for e.g whenever I think about Indian kids playing video games professionally...it cringes tf outta me maybe cz of the mindset with which I have grown up.... people here are way too serious about their studies and career...kids moving out of their home cities to Kota and studying day and night to become Engineers/Doctors. A lot of kids just don't have the time to play video games

this is just like what happened with Filipino dota. filipinos have very many talented players but once they get to international tournaments they bomb out because of the lack of discipline and teamwork. The way they solved this was importing captains and coaches from the top regions. The first to lead this idea was TNC back when they got DeMoN from NA as their captain and they defeated OG in TI. Once the local talent learned, from the international captain they hired, the scene got better and better.

#96

a day late and i aint reading all that shit to see if someone commented this. but the reason India lacks behind is because time. i don't mean this offensively at all, but it hasn't really been since the last decade mostly that India has gone online, it's very fast growing, but is just going online, just starting to get into videogames whereas the top regions like NA and EMEA have been online for decades and gaming for decades allowing them a huge advantage.
