sentinels of light vandal and oni phantom
true, but i wouldnt get my hopes up yet. i do expect them to make playoffs though
wouldnt say dominant.. they faced probably the weakest team in their group but they look okay, especially having lost their coach
m3c (they bounce back and have a clean playoffs run)
acend (new roster looks nice, good individual players & i think theyll just scrape by and qual)
guild (they have the group stage of their lives, falter a little bit in playoffs but ultimately qualify)
4th to fnatic, 1-2 to guild in lowers very close game but comes down to who has been together as a roster longer. Script is written!
sucks they changed the masters slots from 16 -> 12 :/ i get that champions is supposed to be the larger event with more teams but it wouldve been cool to see 16 at masters and maybe even more at champions. 12 is such a small amount especially when theres only 3 international events in a year
literally almost impossible to tell who would win... even though they are an amazing and very stragetic team, optic has had a rough time against EU teams in the past and we havent seen FPX against ANY international teams yet, let alone an NA one.
people underestimated guild because of their early exit of playoffs but forget they a pretty good run in groups and were rated S on so many peoples' tier lists and favourites coming in to stage 1. i imagine they faltered last qualifier because of being a newish roster but theyve had a lot more time to prepare this time around and are definitely something to write home about, very strong stream with good individual players. first game of the event, anything goes. just gotta say gg go next
ofc its not an excuse but it doesnt remove the fact bootcamping increases a teams success and some teams benefit off bootcamps more than others.
yeah thats really fucked, just assumed since theyre still technically under gambit theyd still be able to bootcamp but ig not :( thats really tough
mbmb, completely forgot that they cant bootcamp. really sucks for them :(
completely forgot about that, just assumed since theyre still under gambit technically theyd still have a place to bootcamp. that sucks
id hope m3c not bootcamping has something to do with not being able to rather than purposefully not. bit weird from them since 90% of other times they have bootcamped and it definitely looks like its showing in their gameplay, bootcamping is so important to a teams success
true...
dont think theyd specifically pick copenhagen unless they have something planned out for CIS teams, especially since they said "Our goal is to see our biggest international events played in front of a live audience and both of these cities provided clear pathways towards this goal, while also providing the best possible guarantee that all qualified teams will be able to safely attend and compete."
maybe less strict covid laws to allow for larger crowds? or better stages/places to book for audience. not sure
id assume so if riot specifically chose denmark. if players still have valid Schengen visas they would be able to travel anyways. (if i recall gambit couldve travelled to iceland, had they qualified due to their visas still being in date but im unsure if they could still travel.) i dont think theyd choose a country teams would be unable to travel to like last time
dont think thats a great idea lol
and hes been asked about 50 times if hes going back to CS... let him live
the d3ffo ace lives rent free in my head.i screeeeamed when he got that
i know, just more recently people have been speaking about it
? they finished 1st seed in their group, stomped their way through playoffs & won the whole event.. how are they overhyped
just speculations because hes mentioned a few times he plans to eventually move back to CS
no, he has said multiple times he would go back to cs in the future but has given no timestamp. but most likely would leave after this season if he wanted to (if his contract ends), unless they make some sort of miracle run
we dont know whats going on behind the scenes, Jamppi has said he still wants to win something major in Valorant so im sure the team is still motivated and supposedly they have their igl situation fixed. try not to judge them until you see them play again - i personally wouldnt even score them based of their recent masters performance as Sliggy said they were going to have a revamp of roles and sort out all their problems before the next qualifier but unfortunately (or fortunately?) were given a spot in masters instead, denying them of much practise or fixing major flaws. i dont think Jamppi is the sort of guy to underperform or not put his all into a game just because he plans to move in the future or enjoys other games, you saw his performance at masters. all is to play for this qualifier anyways, as it basically decides which EMEA teams make it to champions since the last 3 didnt make it far enough last event to secure a slot 100%
bro let the guy play games, he rarely streams and when he does its for a few hours so if he wants to play csgo let him have fun?? the team probably scrims 7-8 hours 6 days a week so fuck him if he wants to play a game he enjoys for a few hours.. jeez
not sure ab exact heights but gambits order goes smth like
chronicle 6'3
nats 6'1/6'0
sheydos/redgar
d3ffo
engh
i think the VRLs and most teams being able to stay in the vct circuit is to mimic what next year will look like with franchise leagues, so no actual open qualifier & its much harder to qualify for the main events
m3c fpx ace/fnc, think one of those two will get a honeymoon period w new rosters and qual
i see gmb winning this but guild arent a bad team + have had more time together now. gmb 2-1
fpx won it eventually but it was a crazy comeback, went pretty far OT if i remember correctly. i was losing my mind watching it
dumbest thing you could say, gmb strives off teamwork and good communication. theyve been one of the longest lasting rosters for a reason. just because he has one poor performance in one tournament does not make him the worst player ever, especially when he has health problems🤷♀️ hes had amazing performances in other tournys, especially LAN. gmb/m3c know their team better than you
dont think jett nerfs will affect him much since he is mainly there to make space and set up his team over anything, the only thing it will effect is his op-ing on defence
m3c win gg go next
nah but i feel like there'll be a lot of upsets, excited to see new rosters & i hope/think guild performs better this time as they had high expectations last stage. also will be interesting to watch fokus since i believe they could make it further than people anticipate
LG and Faze have potential to qualify over SEN imo, not sure about EG though...
liquid should win but you never know with them tbh. could be close 2-1
they wouldnt change rosters until after lcq imo but if jamppi chose to stay i dont think theyd let him go, lots of pros & sliggy especially have said hes a very valuable player and i dont think theyd willingly want him to go, only if he chose to. (unless youre inferring this would happen IF jamppi went back to CS)
people discredit acend's win in champs and say it doenst mean anything ig
investigation came to nothing bc it was the org and a third party investigating it, never got to the police as far as i know
VRLs arent part of the main vct circuit i suppose, it would only matter if the french OG team got promoted to the VCT since it would mess with competitive integrity - or not, if they just play under LDN UTD
oh, does that mean that winners of masters 2 dont have an auto qualification spot in champions? (i know circuit points would mean they would, but last year there was a designated slot for gambit winning masters berlin which meant there was 4 emea teams instead of 3)
