Production always ramps up in play-offs. Also, there are plenty of storylines and potential storylines.

A Fnatic comeback/return to the top is one, G2 the Ascension team winning Champs would be another, Gen G going for back to back wins, Chinese team making it somewhat far, Sen/PRX returning to form despite initial disappointment, etc...

You can't say there are no storylines when we haven't even gotten to the meat of the story yet. There will likely be at least one big shocker/surprise that will bring interest. I repeat, it's just group stage.

fluke means it wouldnt be repeated. Sen were legit just better than the other teams there. The level of play just wasn't very high, and since it was the first tournament it wasn't very meaningful. not a fluke tho.

Sen in specific just got very little time to prepare for the new split, got antistratted hard since they were the favorites going in with plenty of vods to watch, and got unlucky with how teams performed against them. For 100t you could make the case, but the Furia game came at a bad time just like Sen's first match, and Leviatan also made internationals too despite never getting to play 100t there so it's not a huge upset. They could be slumping, but I don't think it's as big as a fall as you might expect, they were just overhyped compared to their potential.

One of the better players around, and maybe best on the old SEN roster. He had a really unique playstyle for the time too, which made him somewhat more popular and difficult to play against. Would that hold up today? Probably not.

Definitely lower than average competition. Heretics got a sub, a bunch of last splits teams got boomed because of a brutal schedule, and some teams qualified over better better teams. Calling it a mickey mouse is dramatic, tho. There are enough good teams that the results are definitely still meaningful.
