7/10 for execution, 8/10 for the idea

Always good to see rational humans exist.

I was rooting for G2 all the way, but Sen played well on map 2, and honestly, anyone who isn't completely shit at this game, knows how impossibly difficult it is to have a consistent result. G2 earned this W, but let's not get carried away, SEN are still them GUYS.

posted about 3 years ago

Losses happen, g2 the better team on the day. It's all good

posted about 3 years ago

Absolutely. I feel the need to highlight this because overreactions on this forum are embarrassing to read haha

Vamos g2!!!!!

Both teams played really well.

NA fans, you need not pay attention to the overzealous EMEA silvers overreacting to our first big win.

Of course. No amount of common sense will stop the silvers on this forum overreacting to 1 bad map or 1 bad series.

Enjoy the game

posted about 3 years ago

Everyone relax, it's just the first freaking map.

posted about 3 years ago

genuinely clapped, but vlr.gg users are overreacting because they're silvers who are prisoners of the moment.

you're smoking crack. give it up

guys shut the fuc up, the first map ain't even over yet haha

Because it looks want and they can wear whatever the fuck they good?

Well done to PRX, looking forward to what you bring in champions and 2022!

posted about 3 years ago

Fair point. Remember though, I';m not saying we are Z tier trash. I'm just saying we aren't quite as good as we thought.

Even Acend vs Vision strikers, if you really pay attention to that, Acend's approach and preparation was so flawed. You could see it in the amount of times players were dying alone and the lack of coordination in their util compared to VS. All in good time the teams will get better, BUT so will teams from other regions.

posted about 3 years ago

I agree everything you said. It's not just based on SMB's first map. Even if they come back and clap PRX, I still haven't seen anything that really looks like it would crush a well disciplined and experienced team. We will get there eventually.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah. And tbh there's alot of "wait till insert team or player moves to valorant" talk going on.

If I was a pro CS player... I wouldn't be looking to move to a game that reduces the amount of skill needed to be top top tier in the raw mechanics department.

posted about 3 years ago

100%! I think we as fans have been too eager and with gassed expectations because of our CS dominance.

posted about 3 years ago

I find it weird that my fellow EMEA brothers are struggling to accept we ain't yet at the level we thought we were. This is pure loser talk indeed.

posted about 3 years ago

Agreed. Too many shoulda woulda coulda. It seems alot of my brothers are struggling to admit we aren't the level we thought we were at this point in time.

posted about 3 years ago

Possibly, but I don't see it. I think the region is just not as good as we initially thought. That's my stance, pending better results of course.

posted about 3 years ago

I'm super calm. It's a simple observation. There's no way an EMEA takes this tournament playing the way they have so far. Maybe Gambit can as their loss was a clear late game choke.

posted about 3 years ago

I'll be the one to say it since I can still see some of us in denial. Top EMEA teams ain't what we thought they are.

I love EMEA, but this tournament has exposed the following.

  • Our strategies SUCK or just don't exist
  • We rely more on aim WAY more than we thought we did and would like to admit
  • Most of our top team's team work is equivalent to a mediocre CS team at best.
  • Our top teams lack the real experience to be considered S tier

OPEN QUESTION: Do you think we can improve enough in time to perform at Champions the way we "expect" and think we should? Or are we gonna trail behind for another year

We got some work to do boys!

posted about 3 years ago

dude stop, whole of EMEA is just a jumbled mess of great aimers with BAD or non existent strats

posted about 3 years ago

This whole tournament exposes just how BASIC EMEA is. They're not playing valorant at allllll.

posted about 3 years ago

he's not wrong

posted about 3 years ago

bro, i'm rooting for SMB but their Util usage is non existent. that retake was GARBAGE

posted about 3 years ago

this whole tournament really exposes how bad EMEA util use is

Not a holly.

Yo.... you good?

xD

put a smile on my face haha. 10/10

posted about 3 years ago

Thank goodness, someone with a brain. Your first 2 paragraphs are all any one needs to read if they're confused about NA not having more slots.

Riot wants VIEWERSHIP and GROWTH from this game. You get that from these "minor" regions which may not be as skilled yet, but the player and fanbase will be absolutely gigantic.

Most people will never understand this on the site though, because their level of thinking is absurdly low.

ya , absolute jupiter

posted about 3 years ago

EMEA is in FLUX right now haha. Any of those top 4 can beat each other on any given day. Group A was a joke. BUT Acend have only themselves to blame after how they approached that VS game. I really don't think they came in well prepared for that. It's entirely possible SMB take them down in the next fight, assuming SMB beat paper rex.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, I agree with that for 2022 onwards. Maybe even going forward in Berlin.

BUT the way this game changes and evolves, it's entirely possible that Gambit aren't even considered those guys by middle of next year. We've seen alot of teams come and go from the top in this game. It's hard to predict.

posted about 3 years ago

That's not actually true. yeah CSGO was never massive in Korea, but vision strikers is formed from one of the top korean teams that have been around since 2017, MVP PK. Their coach gloW and ex player also played on several international LANs against EU and NA cs teams.

They don't have to have been CS major winners to build good fundamentals. Most EMEA teams haven't played a SINGLE LAN before.

Ignoring all of that. VS have done the work to play a unique style of valorant that even NA doesn't really play (whether it's better or not, time will tell). So they can be an outlier even IF their core never touched CS.

You don't go a 107 game winning streak (100 of which include not dropping a single map) by playing the same type of game as everyone else in your region.

yo... you good?

You people sleeping on NUTURN with hyeoni is crazy

posted about 3 years ago

Sean Gares and SEN players said that after iceland. Back when people were still thinking FPX were God tier. I remember the clip specific, they talked about the strength of Gambit, Acend and "new" (now current) G2. That is definitely not relevant in today's fast moving world of valorant.

Of course EMEA players are talented, but the way they are playing as a team is below the likes of NA. That to me is a symptom of inexperience, as is mental crumble on LAN. They're symptoms of the same issue, inexperience and fortitude.

posted about 3 years ago

Honestly, 5 through 7, possibly 8 could literally be in any order.

I don't know if you can look at how Acend played against VS and be confident that them vs Envy isn't a 50/50 battle.

They're 1-1 against SMB in head to head series, so I don't believe that just because they won on LAN they're definitely above them.

But, I'm not mad ze list.

posted about 3 years ago

to be expected, valorant draws a younger, less mature crowd

posted about 3 years ago

A man of reason first and foremost, Stan second haha.

posted about 3 years ago

Agreed

posted about 3 years ago

Bro, relax haha. I am an EMEA STAN

But the cold hard truth, we are a level below NA right now. My mind won't change until we get results that suggest otherwise.

There's also nothing wrong with that, the top teams are mostly comprised of players that have a strong competitive CS background. They don't have to have been major winners, but they have RECEIPTS and a track record. It's a more experienced region.

Teamwork wise, we have alot of development to do. Compare Acend's performance to VS today. You can lose count of the amount of times players were dying alone. Same in G2's matches.

It was quite worrying to see them tweet that VS "hit insane 1 in a thousand" type shots. If they think that's why they lost, they need to watch that game back and study it HARD.

posted about 3 years ago

No one wants to admit it, but that's who's running NA valorant (global valorant). ex tier 1-3 CS players.

Same can't be said about EMEA, there aren't nearly as many. so they need time to level up. NA Top 10ish teams are a level above most EMEA teams

posted about 3 years ago

No. The region as a whole just needs to level up a bit more. Otherwise it'll end up like turkey (no offense).

The top teams in NA are generally better, more experienced players. It's not that deep, EMEA just needs to catch up (in valorant). Not form some stupid dream team
