trust in plug
On a more serious note, they have always had potential. We had a glimpse of that last year, but they downgraded with Zander (imo). I've kinda lost faith in them.
You should try Nine Sols then. Has a really satisfying combat system (similar to Sekiro with its' parry mechanic). Navigating the world isn't anywhere near as complicated as Hollow Knight either. Plus, it has 2 difficulty modes, standard and story. choose story if you find the difficulty to be a bit rough (which I admit, it is, but I found really fun anyway).
Lol I also gave up on Hollow Knight early on with my 1st playthough. I gave it a 2nd shot and managed to beat it all. I think it's a little overrated, but still a great game. Much bigger game than I thought it was gonna be.
I am super eager to try them out, though the 1st person perspective will probably be a bit jarring for me since I recently played the 2, 3, and 4 Remakes.
I played Armored Core VI at launch. Was my 2nd favorite game of 2023 (only behind Lies of P). FromSoftware is my favorite video game company working today (though I will admit I wasn't a huge fan of Shadow of the Erdtree)
Well I haven't played Valorant in like 6 months. I haven't really 'quit' per se, but I'm not super eager to dive back in either. Only really paying attention to the esports side of things. So I guess, as of right now, I only engage with Helldivers II.
Interesting, I always heard the Blasphemous games are notoriously difficult, unless that's only the 2nd entry? Anyway, I do plan on playing them, but I do wanna tackle Celeste first.
What remains of Edith finch is probably the main one I want to play. Had in my library for ages and still haven't played.
Edith Finch is a very short experience (easily the shortest indie on the list). Very beautiful "walking sim." Hit me harder than I thought it would. It's not the most interactive experience, but the storytelling is fantastic. Very worth it since you can knock it out in a couple of hours.
Hollow knight, hades and cup head are probably not my thing? Certain kinds of difficult games, I just don't care too much for. I usually need to love someone else about the game besides good difficult gameplay.
That's completely fair. Hollow Knight and especially Cuphead are quite difficult, so I understand staying clear of those. Hades starts off pretty tough, but since it's a roguelite, you constantly get stronger while the enemies stay relatively the same (unless you engage with the heat mechanic, which you wouldn't have to worry about if you don't want to.) There's also a setting that helps mitigate the difficulty by making you tankier for each attempt you fail. Dying also progresses the story, weirdly enough. I've personally liked tougher games ever since beating Elden Ring (which is my favorite game of all time)
I have 250 hours in that game. Really loved it for awhile, but my friends and I moved on the from it. Maybe I'll play it again in the future since a lot of updates have passed since I last played consistently.
That's for sure on the list. I've been loving the metroidvania sub-genre recently with Hollow Knight, Animal Well, Nine Sols, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Celeste is probably the next metroidvania I play. I need a bit of a break from them though.
I have never played a BioWare game strangely enough. All I know is that their last 3 games were trash.
Curious which ones from my list you need to tackle?
Dang you are a gamer indeed
Oh and thanks, it's funny because like 5 years ago I would play nothing but live-service. Wasn't until I played Red Dead Redemption 2 that I realized what I've been missing in terms of single player experiences. Hades was also the game that got me into the indie space.
I play single player games exclusively on my PS5. My PC is pretty outdated to play most modern games. I also only do physical copies (unless it's indie). Also, Remedy just doesn't look like my cup of tea. None of their games seem that appealing to me.
I have done a decent amount of indies, but just wanted to do a bigger game this time. I've played:
-Outer Wilds + DLC
-Hades (Waiting for 1.0 of Hades II as well)
-Hollow Knight (Silksong doesn't exist lmao)
-Animal Well
-Nine Sols
-Signalis
-Disco Elysium
-Another Crab's Treasure
-What Remains of Edith Finch
-Mouthwashing
-Stardew Valley
-Cuphead
Thanks for saying Subnautica though. That's one I for sure have to get into. Probably will before the sequel comes out.
Ah hell no. I've moved on from most live-service outside of Valorant and Helldivers II
It's getting played no matter what before The Dark Ages comes out. Just wasn't sure if I should play it now or wait until near release.
I have set a timer that ends tomorrow at 10 AM Mountain time.
I've been hitting up my back log this month, so which game should I play next? Here are the options:
Poll: https://poll-maker.com/poll5369679x08164bD3-161
Edit: DOOM Eternal it is!
I went with a very safe pick ems for kick off. Call me boring, but I'm pretty confident in these.
Pacific: https://www.vlr.gg/pickem/9889ab75
EMEA: https://www.vlr.gg/pickem/9b3aa078
Americas: https://www.vlr.gg/pickem/f47d5693
G2 vs NRG this early is nasty business. Wouldn't be surprised if this is the final.
Well they're on the same side of the bracket, so one of them has to make a lower bracket run.
2 new predictions before they start:
Lies of P DLC trailer
Max Payne Remake or Control 2 reveal (Remedy)
Edit: I somehow almost forgot about Death Stranding 2. Kojima is there
Maybe RE9 gets shown, but for the longest time, they've only been revealed at Sony events (State of Plays, Showcases). I've given up hope on Wolf Among Us 2. Heard it nearly got canned.
This is definitely not my coping mechanism for Sentinels performance at SOOP! I don't care about the awards themselves, this is just about the game trailers. Won't be saying remasters or ports. Not mentioning already confirmed stuff as well (Mafia: The Old Country, Borderlands 4, etc.)
Happening:
Half-Life 3 reveal (will be the finale)
Either The Witcher 4 or The Witcher 1 Remake reveal (not both)
BioShock 4 reveal
Persona 6 reveal
Naughty Dog new IP reveal
Final Fantasy 8 or 9 Remake reveal (not both)
Either a new FromSoftware game or Armored Core 6 DLC
New DOOM: The Dark Ages trailer
New Judas trailer (Ken Levine game)
New Mobius Digital (Outer Wilds devs) game reveal
New Fable trailer
Monolith's Wonder Woman trailer
New Exodus trailer (ex-BioWare devs that did Mass Effect)
007 game reveal from IO Interactive
New Clockwork Revolution trailer
Not happening:
Anything Nintendo
GTA 6
Elder Scrolls 6
Resident Evil 9 (almost put it in, but RE games are always revealed at Sony events)
Insomniac's Wolverine
Sony Santa Monica new IP (Cory Barlog)
Titanfall 3 (I'm gonna puke)
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Kingdom Hearts 4
Anything Bloodborne
Perfect Dark
The Wolf Among Us 2 (Telltale)
You're welcome for the 100% accurate information!
If dapr somehow manages to make it to T1, but not Skuba, then we truly live in a society.
Sure, but we can't base that on one, or even two off-season events.
NRG is pretty high, but FNS does drop them a little (he's still a goated IGL)
Which team in VCT has the most raw firepower. Ignoring tactics and the like, just pure shooting and game sense. #1 has to be Vitality, right?
Neon was still picked on Fracture pre-buff (I think Victor on Optic popularized it). She could still see some play, but I think Raze will be the main priority. Maybe Phoenix with his buffed wall?
Blue Lock fan 🤢🤮
Looked like something broke with Foxy9? What an absolutely terrible time for it to happen
Better to just click the text bubble with a slash in the top right of the main screen. Just removes that entire section
Had a really bad start to the map, but what a comeback
Dick copy pastes, racial slurs, and brain rot. Fucking hell lol
I had a feeling he wouldn't be allowed to do it on Twitch, but I was hoping he was at least allowed to co-stream on YouTube.
