Better than furia kind of teams where I can't even imagine them winning a single match ¯_(ツ)_/¯
what are we gonna do without the standing goat
Fair enough but I'd much rather see tier 1 teams that are at the bottom of the league try new stuff than trying to make the meta work. Even if it only gets them one or two wins that's a lot more entertaining for the fans and it's better than crashing and burning on stage with zero understanding of the comp or map. Plus the "meta" is as solid as it is cause the agent pool is still relatively small. Maybe in 10 years when there are a lot more agents it won't be one single comp per map that's good
did m4 ever get a j*b after that. I'm sure furia could use a hand rn
but ofc we don't know how envy will do in tier 1. For all we know they might cook americas
Honestly I can think of a few crackpot comps that might work. You'd have to play super aggressively and play off of info. There's no correct way to play valorant tho. T1 beat everyone in the tejo + teamwork meta without using either. Paper rex beat everyone with W gaming and jinggg sticking mostly to his raze one trick (granted paper rex had to change quite a bit to win but they didn't change their core idea).
DFM and GE at least won a single match and they weren't against shit teams either.
I think you might be color blind dawg. BLG has a pink jersey, T1 had the blue make a wish jersey, RRQ had an orange one, Global esports had that funky ass blue and red jersey but you are right in that most teams just make generic designs.
Not necessarily, it's just that pros tend to try to be more flexible and metas are a nice way of building structure and strategies. You could theoretically run a certain agent on every single map if you are good enough at it. If nats ran cypher or viper on every single map I sure as hell won't complain but he'd have to put in the effort to make it work everywhere. Look at ENVY for example all of them are one tricks but they're insanely good at it. Pro play follows meta by choice imo not cause it has to.
q could be a smoke nade which would make it somewhat useful but not entirely out of place. If the agent falls into the controller category maybe the wires could be used as a place and use? Then the C ability could be just placing down ziplines. Maybe make it so that they can be destroyed and don't last forever so they aren't completely broken but they would allow your whole team to take more angles than they normally would. Ult seems sort of weak for such an interesting agent and would also be useless if you are the only one standing.
Honestly I think valorant shouldn't try to make all agents viable on all maps. That would require massive reworks of all agents every single time a problem is found. The issues of balance can be solved by buffing the weaker agents and simply having lots of niche agents. When clove came out people thought they were gonna be entirely useless but they're a legit fun agent to play when you're too tired of filling omen or are just not feeling it and are dead 90% of the time. Creative and one off abilities can be made relevant with good map design going forward. No point in locking the game into a particular meta or play style.
so the average ranked iso trying sheriff only
coincidentally avova has no idea what to smoke either
cause you never fucking know man. Zeta could theoretically go on a run if riot fucks with the meta enough, GE could potentially make playoffs sometime this decade and boom legit has the possibility to be a top team if they could stop choking every important match. Besides if you watch the games on vlr stats then yea they look like shit but at the very least boom had a real fresh playstyle that was legitimately fun to watch.
If they let monyet play duelist he will go nuclear and drag the lifeless corpse of this team across the finish line. If they force him to bait for jemk0n or play smokes we are so fucked.
Primmie is the only one positive in the series rn wtf is this team 😭
DFM almost stopped the train at one point they are only dogshit when it matters
nats and something on the same team is such insane firepower
Nah but GE looked lost on the last two maps. They panicked so many times in very winnable rounds. The opening and mid rounding is great but they end up overaggressing in the end cause they get scared of no info. There was a round on corrode where they had geng cornered in mid but they just threw it by letting them rotate. Papi looked shell shocked in the last map. With how long they've been in the game they need to start getting their game together.
Today is the ultimate pacific fraudcheck. If geng or talon choke this we are in trouble
It's aging in all directions at this point. I don't even know what to think about these teams at this point.
True it's probably possible and the biggest reason is probably just to avoid liability for riot. Either ways unless valorant eSports becomes as big as league I doubt you can consider it a stable job tho
eSports isn't as well established as normal sports to let people make that decision as minors. Apart from the ridiculous legal issues that'll arise they will be out of a job with hardly any earnings by the time they're 22 ish. Unless you go faker and win every tournament in your life you can't live off of such a small career. In football your contract is worth a lot more and you have a future in many things afterwards.
Valorant is alright in that you can always become a coach or a caster or a content creator and the sport and environment support that. Even then it's a hard decision to make in school and imo not worth the fleeting success that you may or may not have
Jesus fucking christ 8/8 bait
Age restrictions are necessary in an entertainment field to prevent young players from ruining their lives. Contracts need you to be an adult for a reason and eSports is a very short term job all things considered. Ofc valorant is a bit better in that a lot of teams and contracts force you to work on public image so you can at least branch out into content creation but it would be really bad to drag kids into the field.
The restrictions is fair but a lot of the poaching is because the players think they can fit into a different more established tier 1 team. It's not exactly the system's fault that they "abandon" their ascension winning team to get the bag. Can't exactly blame them either.
Tmv was cooking with wolves man. No one expected that shit.
Apeks masterclass to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory
We're glazing because APAC being competitive isn't the same as america or EMEA being competitive. They enjoy some of the best conditions to play video games for a living whereas in Asia you'd have to be faker to make a living off of gaming. It's a big deal for us Asians to have such a good run in a legitimately competitive game and for once the SEA teams are actually doing insane.
Imagine radius gets fit dawg. I can't even imagine what he'd look like
i forget that zeta is part of APAC but apart from china the APAC bottom feeders would do pretty well I think and honestly I wouldn't put it past them to go on a run
the shit teams in apac would solo the shit teams of any other region
monyet went nuclear towards the end man. Just put him on primary duelist and tell jemkin to bait
they're rotating with zero map control and 30 seconds left instead of hitting site with TWO FUCKING DUELISTS AHHHHH. This is like watching a casted bronze match
They throw util out like idiots and don't use it when needed it makes no fucking sense. Just let monyet be the main duelist instead of baiting for this shit ass team that refuses to capitalize on his hard work
Why tf are these clowns overrotating with a double duelist comp? They have won every round they actually entry but they seem to be allergic to doing that. They get picks and decide to leave for no fucking reason every single round?!? Jesus christ play to your win con you fucking idiots.
that's a great opportunity if it was somewhat permanent but he's definitely gonna get booted when leaf recovers which makes it not a great deal no?
he seems to be doing decently in content creation now no? I've seen him costream with tarik a bit, he has problems yea but I don't think he should be that desperate to land a seat. He's still capable of being the difference maker imo he just needs to find a team that suits him.
They'll automatically fall apart with time when meta changes and new maps and agents get added to the game. Valorant is getting more and more strategic and if you are just an aim monkey then it's only gonna get rougher here on out.
He's an insane yoru player. The only people that I can think of that were better were probably jawgemo or toronto juicy
he might be cooking
It'd be weirder if they didn't throw a few rounds here and there
