First appearance on PRX: https://www.vlr.gg/35301/paper-rex-vs-foxy-araikordai-kjc-esports-valorant-invitational-playoffs-ubqf/
Best performance: https://www.vlr.gg/35306/paper-rex-vs-bleed-esports-kjc-esports-valorant-invitational-playoffs-gf/

Looking at the stats, it's obvious that PRX are looking stronger post-Berlin. If you are interested in the scene, I made a tierlist if you want to know more about SEA as a region.

replacing shiba is an upgrade yeah

It's good to note that SMG actually hindered Jingg's potential as a duelist. He is insane, but Valorant is a team game.

Jinggg replacing f0rsaken and f0rsaken replacing shiba. The agent pool of f0rsaken is massive, pretty much.

especially when you find out they watch one piece

You're absolutely right, but the odds does favour PRX in a way. I think after KJC Invitational, a lot of people expect more from PRX, considering their dominant performance within SEA.

posted about 2 years ago

If PRX doesn't perform at the level of KJC, then there is a chance. Sadge. I'm on the PRX hopium tho

names are subjective bro

posted about 2 years ago

Yes. I'm not arguing that PRX is completely SSS tier, it's just a tierlist placement for the incoming APAC LCQ so I could understand where they actually place in terms of both inter-regional and international levels of Valorant. Take Full Sense as an example. Before my edit, I placed them below top 5 due to my own personal bias, and no recent performance. However, I have moved them up due to community bias. Once LCQ happens, their performance will directly update my rankings.

I think even making it in LCQ with VCT points places teams at a higher ranking. This is also why I put Boom Esports so high in the ranking due to their LCQ placement as well as their roster changes before my update.

I've updated the rankings, and I've credited you for most of the changes. Thanks for providing feedback!

I don't want to be negative as this is a controversial take, but

PRX > TS.

PRX are the perfect representative for SEA. After that grand finals match there's no doubt in my mind they are literally unstoppable. If they qualified, they would have the most impact in Champions.

posted about 2 years ago

I've been on the PRX hopium since the very beginning

Lmaoo this is actually my ranking. I'm on the hopium that PRX wins but honestly it is more favored to be Korea's. His reasonings and takes are totally not biased whatsoever though haha.

Ruining Canada's reputation...

This argument isn't that persuasive. Teams are suppose to adapt and use comps they aren't comfortable with, that's how metas work. If a team can't adapt or another team adapts better, then the teams at the top should still be at the top regardless of the agent bans. Even if they underperformed due to the agent bans, that just means that they cannot adapt well enough for the future.

posted about 2 years ago

you should honestly ask another forum, but 0.3 seems correct. trust your older brother.

posted about 2 years ago

Would consider if they didn't just beat Team Secret lol.

posted about 2 years ago

Yes. Just like X10 and Full Sense, there's no recent data to know whos technically the better team. What's clear however, is that the scene is rapidly evolving and adapting to the current metas, which is good for SEA as a region.

posted about 2 years ago

I like this. Considering there's a lot of factors to consider (agent bans, underperformance, roster changes) in KJC, your list is the most accurate I've seen.

Time to make a new regional ranking lol

  1. Singapore / Malaysia
  2. Thailand
  3. Philippines
  4. Indonesia
  5. Vietnam

edit: this was a joke btw

posted about 2 years ago

NA LCQ favorites are literally between 3 teams: 100T, XSET and C9B. C9B is the underdog winner of the three, so hopium or not they got a chance like any other team in the LCQ.

posted about 2 years ago

TS is trying new strats, not saving them. The meta will change two months from now, which will be champions time by then.

edit: them underperforming also adds to the equation.

posted about 2 years ago

what war lmfao. this is actually a reasonable take.

posted about 2 years ago

agent ban only works when there is a large agent pool. KJC is a nice experiment, but following Leagues footsteps will take some time.

posted about 2 years ago

forgot about them, will put them at s++

posted about 2 years ago

Thanks! My tierlist isn't that comprehensive as teams vary at certain maps and agents, but I will definitely use your suggestions.

posted about 2 years ago

This would be my list and is more accurate before KJC Invitational. Just like in any sport, the competitive scene changes and teams adapt. Rankings aren't static. The reasoning for Team Secret being 5 on my list is obvious due to their performance in KJC Invitational.

posted about 2 years ago

I'll be sure to include them after KJC Invitational ends.

posted about 2 years ago

I need some reasoning for this, but I'll consider changing it. I personally think that Full Sense will underperform, but they are definitely one of the best teams in SEA.

posted about 2 years ago

Team Secret will definitely perform well and have potential to be S+. Right now they're not playing at a level where they should be.

Updated 2021-10-10

This ranking / tierlist is based on the SEA Valorant scene right now, meaning teams like X10 Esports would be inaccurately included as there is no recent data to support their ranking. Roster changes have also been considered.

Tierlist |

SSS - Paper Rex
S+ - X10 Esports, Bleed eSports, Team Secret
S - Bleed eSports, ONIC G, Full Sense, Boom Esports, Louvre
A+ - Boom Esports, Kingsmen, Zeal Esports
A - Team Big BAAM, Foxy Araikordai, Alter Ego, XcN Gaming, CBT Gaming
B - CERBERUS Esports, Bigetron Astro, Nigma Galaxy, Sharper Esport, Morph Impact, Oasis Gaming
C - Team SMG, EGO, The Infinity Esports, Griffin Esports, Five Ace e-Sports

Ranking |

1 - Paper Rex
-- Gap --
2 - X10 Esports
3 - Team Secret
4 - Bleed eSports
5 - Full Sense
6 - ONIC G
7 - Louvre
8 - Boom Esports
9 - Kingsmen
10 - Zeal Esports
11 - Team Big BAAM
12 - Foxy Araikordai
13 - Alter Ego
14 - XcN Gaming
15 - CBT Gaming
16 - Nigma Galaxy
17 - Oasis Gaming
18 - CERBERUS Esports
19 - Sharper Esport
20 - Bigetron Astro
21 - Morph Impact
22 - The Infinity Esports
23 - Team SMG
24 - EGO
25 - Five Ace e-Sports
26 - Griffin Esports

There is a lot of individual bias in this ranking, so please recommend some changes. If you have any questions for my reasoning, I'll try my best to answer them.

EDIT:

Changes |

  • Moved top 10 rankings around:
    1. Full Sense has been considered as the better team in most cases despite lack of any recent performance.
    2. Team Secret, albeit a subpar performance in KJC, have been moved S+ tier and top 3. Although Team Secret needs to perform, I have to agree with a lot of what TMosura's post had stated.
    3. Team Big BAAM falls out of top 10.
    4. Zeal Esports have been moved up despite a 7th-8th performance in KJC.
    5. Kingsmen replaces Team Big BAAM and moves up. Boom Esports, despite promising roster changes, have been moved down.
    6. Louvre, despite finishing off Team Secret in KJC, remains the same.
    7. Bleed eSports, despite finishing in GF within KJC, have been moved down 1 place, but moved up in the tierlist to S+ with potential.
  • Added A+ tier, to distinctively put teams that are evidently not at yet S tier, but also better than A tier. Moved Boom Esports, Kingsmen and Zeal Esports.
  • Alter Ego and XcN moved up to A.
  • Nigma Galaxy and Sharper Esport moved down to B.
  • Added C tier. Moved Team SMG, EGO, The Infinity Esports, and Griffin Esports.
  • Added CBT Gaming, Bigetron Astro and Five Ace e-Sports (let me know of any other notable teams I should include).
  • Everything below top 10 in the rankings have been shifted to match the tierlist.

Thoughts |

Despite TMosura's suggestion of varying rankings, I think a specific value for 1 team gives us a more clear idea of the scene as a standing. I completely agree with what they say about teams being very close, but for this ranking I want it to be clear for those who aren't following the SEA scene which teams are more distinctively better than another.

I've also added SSS for PRX, whether it is inaccurate or not will depend on LCQ, but I'm 100% certain that they are currently the best team in SEA. After watching their games, and their obvious distinctive playstyle in accordance to the metas, as well as how they adapted perfectly to the KJC agent bans, there's a considerable gap between PRX and other SEA teams. Imagine KRU of SEA, that's how I see it. X10 Esports have yet to prove themselves of this caliber due to no recent performance. I honestly think that Paper Rex would've been a better candidate for Champions than Team Secret, but obviously Team Secret won that challenger playoffs fair and square.

As for top 10, TMosura's analysis of the scene is the most accurate I've seen as of date. SEA's top 10 cannot be ranked perfectly according to a specific ELO, as the variables of maps and agents make certain teams better or worse than others. Despite of performance, team chemistry and other notable factors, my decision on this ranking has been both personal bias and community bias. This is why I ask for suggestions on the ranking, because I know I alone will make human errors despite my analysis of the scene with statistics in mind.

Regardless, as a Canadian viewer following SEA and NA, I certainly think without a doubt of personal feelings, that SEA have the potential to be a top contender in Valorant.

This tierlist is to be updated again once APAC LCQ ends, which will determine a realistic standing for SEA coming into VCT 2022.

Please let me know if there are any other things I should change / include.

Would rather see NV vs Gambit then another rematch between 100T and Gambit. Something new would be nice. If it's a stomp then Gambit is the best team in the world.

posted about 2 years ago

Since it's 9-3. 100T had the greatest comebacks in this event, it's more practical for them to perform better under pressure.

EDIT: 11-3 comeback (copium)
