well maybe hate is a strong word but I certainly don't like the players

I've spoken a lot about shAts igling but I also don't like the neon every map (miniboo has only played neon since the first 2 games of kickoff, even dumbi has played other characters). I think neon herself is good but I don't think liquid are very good at playing around her and it takes much more coordination than a raze or jett for example

they'd benefit from keeping it simple and playing more straightforward characters imo.

also we've seen several teams qualify while not leaning heavily into the neon, I genuinely think her impact is being wildly overstated by the community. she probably has the highest ceiling but in general teams would be better off playing characters with a higher floor

he's just not fragging I don't think it's very deep
his mechanics look great sometimes but most of the times he loses his aim duels. he does seem to play with very little freedom so I'll give him the benefit of doubt and say he could shine in a different position, nonetheless the team would improve if they had someone who's better at anchoring

but either way I don't think he's the main problem, swapping him for a better player would improve the team but not substantially so. shAts igling is a way bigger issue

anyway this is probably due to the weight cut so he looks like he did in the burns and usman fight, he also had to work for the take downs unlike with ddp who gifted his back for free for 25 minutes

have you watched the games? he doesn't understand how to poke around the map and take space or break utility to apply pressure whatsoever. if whatever the coach cooked up doesn't work then the team has zero adaptability and continues to repeat it over and over regardless of how many times they fail

most clear example is bind against M8s in santiago where they kept walking or running down on defense and dying, even when they got picks he doesn't know how to mid round and how to call afterwards. on pearl yesterday he let chronicle hold down half the map solo without ever bothering to push him off the deep B angle. today on fracture his only strats on attack were hard execs with zero space around the map or sending miniboo solo and praying he either gets a pick or forces enemy rotates

oh yeah there's also pearl against M8s and abyss against NRG in santiago. on pearl they won some rounds on attack with hard execs since the comp is really good against that, M8s figures out how to stop them then liquid barely wins any attack rounds after. on abyss defense he kept 5 stacking sites with essentially no info and NRG would hit the other site. he genuinely made ethan look like the greatest igl of all time even though ethan isn't all that himself

he also just doesn't have good calls around enemy ults in general, like the last round on lotus yesterday a better igl would've known that hard executing then holding site is an inevitable loss with the ults the enemy team has, they had to make a play there.

they could get jesus on the team and they still wouldn't win shit with nats igling

oxy is all aim no brain (literally just pay attention to how he uses his utility and some of the fights he takes) and he has plenty of games or phases where he gets farmed but no one pays attention to them. if all you care about is pure aim then he's amazing I guess

I kinda doubt it actually, lohan and nats have said a lot of good things about wayne so I can see them sticking with him. maybe if they completely bomb out of EWC qualifiers they'll go for a replacement

I'm surprised at the teams we lost to but I'm not that surprised we lost. we didn't look that promising for all of stage 2, I wasn't really impressed by how we were winning.
