basically buying vandal/phantom + full armour is 3900, but with half its only 3300. you save 600 credits so when you lose a round, when you get minimum 1900 credits, you only need about 1500 credits from previous round compared to 2000 if you buy half with gun. so on ecos, you can buy up more. also, vandal does 120 for 3 body shots and 160 for 4. so if they use vandal the half shield makes no difference compared to full shield. however, if you get headshot 140 with phantom at 15-30 metres, you die with half shield but not with full shield. if you get hit by grenades/mollies, it will only take three shots with either vandal or phantom at pretty much any range to die as well.
