I think you are just setting yourself up to be disappointed if you think that not winning something after champs is bad. There hasn’t been a single year where people thought the best team (throughout the whole year) won champs. Plus EDG is limiting their chances to win by not practicing this off-season, if they do win I doubt it will be masters Bangkok.
It's not like the teams are competing internationally with championship points, they just need the most in their region.
EDG was the best team at the end of champs, but it was still close between them and other teams.
We’ll see how much not playing in the off season hurts the start of their year, but I’m fairly confident that they will be fine by the later half of the year.

I’m mostly asking because of the tournament right now, and as I was looking through stats I noticed that half of the teams were grouped together. When I click other stats it organizes it normally, but when I click rating it goes back too the goofy organization.

Regardless of whether they tried or not, I lost a lot of respect for EDG during this off season. They seem to be the only team not working this off season, and as we all learned after last year, teams that don't get the ball rolling in the off season will struggle against those that did.
