I watch other esports where if you come from lowers you have to beat the winners twice, so I've always seen this as too small of an advantage.

It’s the same level as a regionals, bo1s and no lower bracket made the tournament fundamentally different. And while all the teams there preformed (for the most part) how we expected it doesn’t change the strange tournament format. Also China had a huge disadvantage compared to other teams because they had to matches just a day or so before.

I think only getting 2 map bans almost isn't enough.
Lower Bracket teams often still win against those from the upper.
In some other e sports I watch, whoever comes from lowers has to beat the uppers winners twice.

G2 were good before tejo, and have had a month to prep new comps. Just because they used tejo more effectively than anyone else doesn’t mean they are suddenly bad. Paper Rex win anyways though.
